I made my own Save the Date cards and wedding programs just on MS Word. I printed them off on my ink-jet with black ink (it's cheaper than color and tends to look more uniform), but I used some really nice stationary from Office Max (in the Copy Max section).

For the Save the Date cards I used postcards. For the wedding programs I used a nice parchment in a cordinating color from the wedding ceremony. Then I folded it in half and punched a hole on the side and tied a ribbon in a bow. It turned out cute.

I actually got my wedding invitations for FREE from the place where we got the tuxes from. Just ask the tux place and they might offer some free styles or at least a good discount.

Micheal's and Hobby Lobby (even some bigger Wal-marts) have some nice things for not too expensive. There is a ton of stuff out there and it doesn't have to be expensive if you put some time into it. Have fun!!

I made my own invitations and it worked out very well. I don't know what stores are close by to you, but we bought ours at Michael's or AC Moore. Both craft stores tend to have coupons so you could buy a box each week with a coupon and save that way. We bought ours all at once because they had a 25% off everything sale. I think we ended up spending around $15-$20 for each box of 50 invitations, envelopes, and response cards and so far I have printed 100 on one ink cartridge. We also bought at Staples mailing labels to custom print addresses and return addresses and postcards to include our wedding info (website address, directions, etc). I highly recommend that you register online to receive advertisements from potential suppliers that way you can monitor sales from home.

Michael's, Wal-mart, Staples, or anywhere that sell paper and/or art/craft supplies are good to check out. I want to do magnets for save-the-date cards - I found some printable magnetic sheets at Office Depot that I may end up using. About $10-12 for 5 sheets, and I can cut them to whatever size I want.
Scrapbooking stores may have a wider variety of materials, but can also be more expensive.

Yes, my daughter made hers. You can either go to a stationery store and get some good card stock and do them on your computer or go to a party supply store where they have all sorts of materials to make invites. You can do the same thing with the "save the date" cards, thank you notes, etc.

Yes, I made my own wedding invitations and have made cards for several other occasions. A REALLY good place to check for ideas and supplies is Two Peas in a Bucket. Strange name for a company I know but seriously they have a KILLER Gallery & Creating Garden and their store has EVERYTHING! Check them out here

you do no longer deliver out all of the main suitable factors on a shop the Date card. The date and placement is all you put in the shop the Date card. you would be able to place down a holiday spot wedding ceremony in Oahu, Hawaii. do no longer placed down motel data or transportation. IF somebody surely desires to bypass on your wedding ceremony they are going to touch you for element counsel. i could anticipate they could desire to be an actual pal or relatives member to be wiling to spend the time and money for a holiday spot wedding ceremony. that's to no longer be an counsel ebook. in basic terms an uncomplicated heads up on the date and placement. they'd call you in the event that they choose for any further data on coming to the marriage.

I made my own invitations. I bought the blank invitations with a pearlized border at Target (1 box of 50 invitations, 50 response cards, and envelope was $24.99 each) and printed them at home.

I added a bow to the top with a tiny heart charm, and you can't tell I made them!

Good luck to you!

Depending on your budget, sometimes buying invitations or save-the-date cards can be just as inexpensive as making them yourself. The link below shows a comparison between DIY and custom printing. I got this from http://ww.abcustom.com which also sells invitations (they currently have a 30% off promo going).

I made my own from a design in the For Better or Worse (remember that show on TLC?) book. They have some really neat ideas. Everything I used can be found at Walmart.
