He likes to drink. But it has gotten to the point, that he spends more time with the guys drinking all the time. We don't ever go out anymore, and he's never home. Not that he is far, cause he is normally next door, or down the street. But I feel like he has no time for me, or our kids. He even ignores his own son when hes here. He would rather be drinking. What can I do? I have tried to talk to him, and that works for a short time.

After 16 years together, and kids, he's still only your boyfriend, sounds like the problem is not his drinking, but your lack of self-respect. Why should he change, when you allow him to treat you and your kids this way? Dump him, and find someone who will treat you like you matter, and who will be a good role model for your kids. Do you really want an irresponsible drunk being the male role model in your kids' lives? If not for yourself, do it for them.

16 years? Woo...That is a long time. I cant really tell you what to do but I say you need to get away from him or get him some help like a counselor or take him to rehab and get him some real good help. I think he might be a drunk. I'm so sorry. I'm sure you have been through alot with him..I know you will do the right thing nomatter what you do.

Well try 2 talk 2 him again. Teel him ur all feelings. Tell him that his drinking habbit is taking him away from u n ur children. U love him n want him 2 spend time with you n children. U don't hve any problem with his hangover with his friends, but not always. Sometimes its fine but maximum time he should try 2 get involve with his family

You need to get rid of him. Find happiness by yourself or with someone who is going to treat you right. You've wasted enough time with this loser, move on. Look for Mr. Right. This one is definitely Mr. Wrong.

yell at him and if he doesnt listen throw him away because he is not worth it. no guy is worth worrying sooo much day after day wondering where he is and help him when he's drunk. sometimes those guys turn out to be asswhole parents anyway and abusive bf's
