Some of my friends said it was a week after asking them out/getting asked out, but to me that just seems silly. Is it after making out a few times, going on a few dates or really getting to know them and deciding you still really like him/her?

Someone is your boyfriend/girlfriend the moment you guys ask each other directly if this is now an "exclusive" relationship...otherwise...you are both free to play the field...
Note that both parties must be in agreement about exclusivity (ie. you are exclusive or you're not, no in betweens)...

How old are you? Consider someone your boyfriend when y'all talk about it and agree to those terms.
Just because you go out with somebody (or make out), that don't make them your boyfriend or girlfriend. Because you may not be the only person they go out with.

When you like someone you know it. You dont just get a boyfriend and decide not to care about them and get a new boyfriend that is just wrong.

i think that someone is considered ur boyfriend/girlfriend when they say they love you or they go on a date or somewhere with just the to of them more than twice

I think this "title" occurs after both people agree that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe communication with each other is more important than what other people think?
