I'm not a young person, by the way...... The man I'm seeing has many wonderful qualities and I care about him very much, but he seems to have developed stronger feelings that I have. If he says those 'three little words', in all honesty, I can't reciprocate. What do I say?

Well don't lie...say thank you. If he asks why you didn't say it back, tell him it isn't something you say lightly and you want to be completely sure before you say it.

I've ran into this problem a looot. The best way to save their ego..is to say, "Aw, that's so sweet of you" and give them a hug..or you can be playful with them..ease the tension a bit, Smile playfully and tell him he's crazy..and laugh..then change the topic. lol

Be honest and up front, and be tactful, as obviously this person's feelings are to be considered, but in the end, they will appreciate being told the truth.
