i drank a whole 4 oz bottle of promethazine codiene cough syrup mixed with a 20 oz sprite and it got me pretty messed up for the night. i am also unemployed right now, looking for a job. if i had to take a drug test like a urine analysis for example, would the result be positive or negative?

i was a probation officer for 6 years and did numerous drug tests myself and also on my defendents.. ur pretty much going to test positive for the next 3-6 weeks.. codeine shows up as an opiate on a drug test... along with vicodin valium percocet and the lot.. ur best bet is to bulk up on the water... don't over do it do 10 glasses of 8oz of water a day and that will flush ur system a bit faster than the 6 weeks that it would normally take.. and to be honest with u don't try the over the counter detox things.. most jobs now test for those also.. basically drink the water, flush ur sysetm and stay away from narcotics street wise or prescription..

Yes. It will come up as an opiate drug. Should be in your system for about 3-4 days.

It would show positive. You might take the bottle of medicine along with you to show what you had to take. If only codeine shows up in the test then you have an alibi.

positive, when the chemicals break down , they come out as morphine actually, the same checmicals, just say you had a cough and took some meds.

It can if they check for that. Most employers just check for street drugs. But it will show up if they check for it

Depends on what kind of test it is. Some test only search for certain things - pot, meth, etc.
