It sounds pretty crazy when you put it that way but yes. Jesus sacrificed himself for all of mankind that's what Christians believe

There are not many, but there are some the claim to be Christian that do not subscribe to the teaching of the Trinity.
From what I read in your question the trinitarians do have a situation regarding this.
For me the Bible shows that the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit are separate. The Holy Spirit being God's Active force he uses to accomplish his will. For instance, the Bible is a product of Holy Spirit.
"All Scripture is inspired ...........
{Lit., “God-breathed.” Gr., The·o′pneu·stos; Lat., Di·vi′ni·tus in·spi·ra′ta; J17(Heb.), beru′ach ’Elo·him′, “by God’s spirit.”}
..............of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Good question! I've always wondered why God would have to send his only son down to Earth so that he could die a horrible death on the cross. And for what? To save us from what? If he wanted to save us from some bad thing, couldn't God have just made that bad thing go away?
I know this will get me at least a couple of thumbs down, but I even wonder sometimes why God would even have a son.

Your understanding is limited. Think you can rephrase it to make some sense? Do you really want to know about the death of God's son Jesus and the Deity of Christ or just blaspheming God? What matters when you face God with a capital "G", the great I AM, the alpha and omega, is that you have not rejected the sacrifice for your sins given willingly by His son Jesus when you die and face judgment.

Nope for the Lord our God is one! Not in part, not in whole but ONE. You are speaking your own terms, true Christians know their God. God's design and wisdom is that He can accomplish the impossible and the unthinkable, which the unbelieving treats as foolish.

If you're referring to the cross, you're way over-simplifying. There's more than that...read the accounts of the crucifixion, then restate your question.

Amazingly enough they actually do. They'll make fools of themselves trying to dance around it, but that's the bottom line. Good observation.
