Thousands of hungry children are right here in the US...homeless with their parents on the streets. Thousands of citizens live at or below poverty, and only have a decent meal and heat in the winter when they are lucky. Yet, our good Nation founded on Christian principles "turns the other cheek" and continues on blowing up Iraq and feeding war and the games of war. The greatest country in the world? Really? Maybe we should ask one of those poor, cold and hungry children on the streets of D.C.

Why do we have so much money to sponsor war and deadly games with people's lives, but none to get help to our own people? To me, this is so sad. I do what I can, but things need to change. They are so wrong. Where is God in all this evil?

According to many christians on this site, god is busy, personally, giving them inspiration and making things "fall into place" for them. No time left for the homeless and hungry, I guess.

Evil does exist even though God exist. I think a lot of people assume that God is just standing by letting evil happen. Evil has a strong force just as good has a strong force. Yes I think it's sad when anyone children and adults are hungry.

War is a ugly fact of life and unfortuantely suffering happens so we can show compassion. I know you might think this sounds "corny" but I've been one of those hungry kids you talk about and I've lost someone to war but to come out of it and still love God is hard for me .

As far as this being the greatest country, yes it is. I've traveled extensively and have seen so much more devastation and suffering. I've seen so much injustice, it's unbelievable what can and does go on in some countries.

You say you do what you can, well keep doing what you can do. Every little bit you do to help makes you a better person. Every little bit you do shows compassion to someone. You may not see who your compassion helps but just know that it does.

Yeah, it is a sad state of affairs. I'm an Aussie and i completely agree with you. Stupid John Howard and George Bush Jr. Things like space research should be put on hold until we solve problems such as poverty and disease. And the war on Iraq should never have happened. Although Saddam did need to be dealt with.

It sounds to me like you need to be reading, studying, and praying for their assistance. The beginning of this war and all of these problems came as a result of the one called satan. There are jobs and work programs that our government offer to those who will work. The children are not left in the cold and without food as a result of this war. They have been in this shape even in times of peace. It is people like you who will complain but not get up and help them. Get up and help them. Get up and help them. They need you as much as they need the rest of us! Have a great week. Remember that if YOU do not get up, read, study, and pray that those people may still need help tomorrow.

If we choose to not want God as a part of our lives, God will respect our decision. We cannot have it both ways,. We can't have free will as a Gift of CHOICE, then have that choice overridden by the giver of that Gift. Talk to your politicians....they're the ones you should have issues with!
