Blood in the stool is a sign of whip worms. They are actually shaped like whips which causes tearing when they come out in your puppy's stool. Blood in the stool is also a sign of parvo, which is very deadly to dogs if not treated. Get your puppy to the vet ASAP!! Blood from anywhere is nothing to mess around with.

well ok if a person sold you a pup on Christmas than its a good chance he isnt from a quality breeder.. so really it could be anything
was he vaccinated before you got him? Parvo and other diseases often show up as problems in stools
what food was he on?? food change can cause tummy problems...
worms - blood is often a sign of worms - was he dewormed before you got him?
if he has no vet records then I would get him to a vet ASAP.. and hopefully you got some sort of health guarantee when you got him.. if you "bought" him then I really hope you didnt pay for an unvaccinated pup with no guarantee...

GO TO THE VET ASAP....seriously bloody stool is the number one sign of parvovirus which is a fatal disease which is very common in puppies...your puppy is especially at risk if it is not vaccinated or has come in contact with other dogs...take this symptom seriously and take it to the vet...

Have you given your dog any chicken bones lately? Because sometimes when you feed them chicken bones the sharp edges in the pieces can make a hole in his stomach and eventually cause his stomach to bleed internally. This happened to my aunts dog. He ate a chicken bone and he started to get sick. When he pooped it had blood in it and the dog eventually died. Please I urge you to go to the vet immediately and have him checked out, before it becomes a major problem.

you most likely changed its diet. give it a day or two. if it doesn't go away then to the vet you should go. but it shouldn't have blood in its stool, its kinda toss up. make sure it is up to date on its shots and vac.

Could be worms, could be intestinal upset, could be parvo. The last is very dangerous! Please get your puppy to a vet ASAP.
