it depends on how much you're pretending...

What a very interesting question....

I think it depends. For example, a child plays house and pretends to be a mommy. That is not lying!!! But a person can pretend to be something that they are not and they mislead those around them. That is like lying!

An actor "pretends" when he is on stage or in a movie. They are entertaining. A child "pretends" when they play house or school or war. They are learning social skills. None of those are lying.

But if the "pretending" is done to deceive, mislead, cover up, etc., it is not "pretending", it is lying.

If you are a young child then pretending is expected. When you have reached an age that you are able to decifer right from wrong then "pretending" is also "LYING". I hope that this makes some sense. Have a great evening!

No, pretending is misleading a person to think the way you want them to but lying is just when you tell false stories.

once you pretend, you makebelieve. you could pretend which you're a action picture star, or a ninja or some thing. yet once you flow around telling human beings and appearing such as you're a ninja or well known action picture star then thats basically mendacity. i think you're able to say pretending is nearly a teenagers element or once you're older an fool's element (pretending to be some thing whilst youre basically joking...) mendacity is telling some thing that may no longer authentic... pretending is appearing.

From humanities point of view no! But, in reality Yes, according to the Spiritual Essence of God's Law. That's what it says in truth and not what the wording or what the law says at face value.

In reality, humankind believes there is nothing wrong about fibs, white lies, fabrication and the such.

Not if you get busted telling a lie and saying you were only pretending.

Santa Claus and God are pretend.

Telling someone you didn't steal their stapler when you did is lying.

The first is living life as if something exists.

The second is telling someone else to live their life as if the truth didn't exist.
