Thinning can be achieved in two manners, one is called a razor cut, not as painful as it sounds, the other is thinning shears, cool looking as well as extremely useful for us girls with way too much hair. Good luck and happy hair.

I love thinning out. I get my hair thinned out everytime I get a hair cut. She uses the thinning shears. Your hair does fall out (its just hair that was cut). Have her thin the hair that is underneath, not right on top. Then you'll have little fly aways. Once you do it, you'll never regret it! Good luck!

I've known people that had their hair thinned and it was a nightmare for them. They had short hairs sticking up all over the place,it gave the hair a damage broken appearance. It took them forever to grow it all out.Just my opinion, but I really would not do it.

if you like braiding your hair forget about it unless you like litle sprigs of hair sticking out every where.

just ask a professional to thin it. alot of people get it done.

I just had a hairdresser do it right for the first time. Love it!

She did it with scissors, not a razor. Regular scissors, not the kind with "teeth".
