Definitely. Being spiritual means that you're aware of yourself and the world around you. it's recognising the beauty of human nature and learning how to use your gifts for the good of others. To be religious means you have to follow a code of behaviour which I think inhibits personal growth and discovery.

I think there is a big difference between religion and spirituality! Religion is based on rules and tradition, whereas spirituality comes from within. Being spiritual contains much more freedom than being religious!

I also do. Being spiritual is your personal relationship with the spiritual world. Being Religious is following the teachings of a religion.

I do too. I consider myself to be more spiritual than religious. I think that being spiritual means that you've got a relationship with a diety that's personal to you and being religious means that you follow a certain set of guidelines set forth by the founders of a certain denomination or religion.

If you look at it the way bender says ..no there will be no difference...religious..as in having a form of Godliness...but spiritual..is being on a level...with God..that you can interact with him.....you can over spiritualize things without God ...in that you would be spiritually religious...

World of difference, Cain was religious Abel was spiritual, Balaam was religious, Moses was spiritual, Esau was religious, Jacob was spiritual, Judas Iscariot was religious and Jesus was spiritual. what all these religious people had in common was they killed people for God thinking they were doing God a service; John 16:2
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
I feel the major difference is a spiritual person is willing to die for what he believes and a religious person is willing to kill for what he believes and is afraid of death.

Definitely. Religious to me implies just following rules and not actually believing anything personally in your heart. Just staying stuck on all the little things, you know? But being spiritual is so much more. It means incorporating God into your daily life, having a personal relationship with him, praying, reading your Bible, and living your life to glorify God. I do believe that God has given us guidelines and rules to follow though that he outlines in his Word, so I do believe that we must have a bit of religion in our lives as well.
