Sadly, I really doubt it. There's so much hatred and greed within our convoluted species that peace and harmony can either be a pipe dream or brought through near catastrophic destruction

Well, the bible says that after the 7 years of tribulation when the anti-christ in on the earth, Jesus will come down and will reign on the earth for 1000 years. During those years, I'm sure the world will be a peaceful place. But I'm afraid that this won't happen before 2011. Sorry.
Have a nice day :-)

as I see it the main cause is accumulation of wealth to the point where the only thing left to purcase is power. Limiting accumulation to maintain a ratio between the richest and poorest.
Looking on here one might think differantly but nobody here is killing others for profit, at least not to my knowledge.
unfortunately there is no way this is gonna happen by 2011. People in the past have been assasinated for spreading the above plan around so the very rich see this not only as a possibility, but they fear it as becoming a plan which is workable and a possibilty.
Religious differances in the end become just talk unless there is someone fanning the flames and promoting fear and playing lets you and him fight.
The current terrorist activity has it's roots in poverty, and unfair trade practices. Religion is just a vehicle for fanning the flames.

nope. humans have never been peaceful and harmonious and with the Earth's resources being stretched and stripped by us humans being so overly prolific it's only gonna get worse. what we don't use up we pollute and we keep breeding like mindless rodent while we trash our habitats. we human sure like to tout ourselves as being sooooo intelligent. yep ... we're so smart it's killing us and everything else on the planet.
you want peace on Earth? pray for a worldwide pandemic that culls back the human herd to reasonable numbers.
PS. Christians crack me up. Christianity has been around for 2000 years and has brought about more violence than it's prevented. besides, Jesus can't return until there's a big war over Israel. right? **rolls eyes**

God promises he will remove the stress in our lives. I could have picked a couple different Scriptures but this one cuts to the chase.
"For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men." -2 Peter 3:5-7

With man this is impossible. But with God all things are possible. I believe in the soon coming Kingdom of Messiah Jesus. Only when He reigns as Prince of Peace will the world know true peace.

There can never be peace on the earth
Unless all the nations
Embrace the way of Alone God
And forget
Their self-made
Religious differences.
The Lord of Abraham
The Ahura of Zoroaster
The Eishwar of Krishna
The Jehovah of Moses
The God of Jesus
The Allah of Muhammad
is the AlMighty One Alone God Only who is the Creator and Nourisher of us all.
THE SUPREME LORD
Who said in the Godly voice
“I, and I alone, am God
and all other gods
(or goddesses and demigods)
are unreal.”
(Bible Duet. 32:39)
“Worship no god but Me”
(Exodus 20:3)
“Worship no god but Me”,
clearly means that:
“There is no god but Me.”
The same Words has been revealed by the Lord through the Lord’s Revelation, Al-Quran:
“There is no god but Allah
(The One Alone God)”
so, PEACE here in this world and there in the Hereafter, can be ensured through obedience of the Lord, the Holy One alone; in accordance with the Lord’s commandments, given in all the Scriptures, already, possessed by the people of the Scriptures.
Therefore, the Lord of Moses (PBUH) and the Lord of Muhammad (PBUH) and the Lord of Jesus (PBUH) and the Lord of Krishna (PBUH) is the same, Alone Lord who is known as Our God, the One and the Alone and the Absolute Holy.

murderer, rape, theft, Evil Dictators.... why do you think all of these problems exist ??? all throughout history man has tried to control these problems with laws and punishment, and yet nothing we have come up with has been able to get to the heart of the matter....which is "Sin".... as long as sin is in the world these problems will continue to exist....therefore ruling out any possibility of peace and harmony.... who shall rid the world of sin and make the world a better place.....? Jesus Christ..the only begotten son of God....thats who.... he is coming soon to cleanse the earth and restore mankind to a right relationship with God....and those who are not with him....are against him!!!
