I have a male & female fitch bird. The male keeps pecking at the female. Is this normal behavior? The female feathers are coming off her backk as a result.

Is it possible he is just preening her. Preening is actually a sign of affection between birds. That doesn't mean that she wants him to be doing this. Preening is perfectly normal, but if it's getting out of hand (bald spots on the preened bird), try spraying the birds with warm water from the top of the cage and put some toys in to stimulate them. If that doesn't work, maybe try seperating them. Good Luck!
