Zero carb will do it for you. But you must cut out ALL carbs, not just the refined unhealthy ones. No fruits, no veggies, no nuts, no grains or flour products of any kind.

Eat as much as you want of these foods: eggs, fish, beef, chicken, pork, lamb. You should eat high-fat cuts of beef, for example ribeye steaks are very fatty. This diet is about 80% fat, 20% protein. It's an excellent diet, and I"ve been eating this way for 15 years. BTW, I'm also very physically active.

I agree with the above poster that you should be placing your bet on the *percentage* of weight loss. The total amount of pounds you lose doesn't matter, it's percentage of your body weight that is important (because the two of you probably weigh different amounts, and men's and women's bodies are different).

Pilates is great for home, there are all kinds of dvds. As for food, it's really better to change your overall way of eating because meal plans don't allow for real life situations. What I'm doing now is trying to be moderate in all things--for example I like pasta but instead of the processed white kind I get whole grain and have it with veggies, healthy fat and protein. Cutting down on processed foods and sugars really helps decrease your appetite, but when I don't want to cook I have something like Amy's Organics or Seasons of Change frozen meals because they are less processed. Good luck.

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body building so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! Well, men have a definite advantage when it comes to weight loss! You will have to work a LOT harder than he does if you intend to beat him!

One way to lose weight is to not have too many foods in the house. Do not have your favorite snack foods [but have plenty of his, teehee]. If you have a sweet tooth then fix sugarfree jello and layer it with sf whipped topping, and make it very attractive in the fridge, and have it there all the time. Also have sf lowfat yogurt.

Buy fresh fruits and vegetables and as you eat them, think of how good they actually are. If you are not used to eating healthy things, then they will taste especially wonderful to you.

For breakfast you might have some type of sf lf cereal [cheerios, corn flakes, rice krispies] with skim milk and some fruit. For lunch choose a lower fat meat such as chicken or fish. Chicken can be fixed MANY different ways: grill it with seasonings or with marinade, bake it in various ways, crockpot it, cook it on the stove in a tiny bit of olive oil, etc. For fish choose a mild one such as tilapia [available in 4 lb boxes at Walmart for $11 or so] and thaw it and broil it for 5 minutes after putting on seasoned salt, pepper, a tiny bit of garlic, and a tiny bit of parmesan cheese. Also with lunch have 2 fresh veggies and a piece of fruit. For supper have another lowfat meat with 2 cooked veggies and a nice salad. In the evening you can enjoy a nice piece of fruit [slice it up and put it on a plate and sit down and enjoy it] and some jello with whipped topping.

If you feel like you HAVE to have a certain food that is not lowfat, put out a certain small amount on a plate, put the food away in an inconvenient spot, then go sit down and slowly eat and enjoy that food.

Food cravings go away when you resist them. Just tell yourself that if you still want _____ in 15 minutes, then you will eat it, but while you are waiting that 15 minutes, phone a friend or take a walk or brush your dog or paint your nails.

Drink lots of water and I have found it helpful to go to any pharmacy and buy some sort of diet vitamin.

For exercises at home sometimes there are exercise shows to watch; even if you can't do the exact exercises, you might be able to do SOMETHING while they are exercising. Also floor exercises are good, particularly different kinds of sit-ups. That will help you feel less hungry, too. If you go to your library there are more than likely any number of books containing exercises you can do at home. Even if you are short on time, tell yourself you ARE GOING to exercise for 15 minutes. That will grow if you keep at it, and if you do 15 minutes of tummy exercises for 2 weeks, your clothes will fit looser.

The best way to conquer excessive hunger is distraction, so find some hobbies you enjoy that are easy to just pick up and DO on the spur of the moment, or tell a few choice friends that you might be calling them when you are hungry and need some distraction.

Good luck!

everyday eat something with grain, pasta, bread.. etc,, dont forget the protin and the fruits. drink only water!!! no sodas, or frozen food, no junk food, no chips - nothing like that.

if your busy.. make your lunch for work the day before. prepare the dinner the night before too and cook it the day, and for breakfast make it a milkshake milk and banana and just yogurt.

make a work out time for 10-40 mins when your free. including a jog, streches, and push ups plus sit ups.. if all do that and put your mind to it and not skip a day you shoud lose "alteast" 15-20. good luck!

I lost 26 pounds in three months doing a "do it yourself" Weight Watchers plan. I do 30 minutes on an elliptical machine 4 times a week, and rely on Smart Ones meals, combined with lots of fresh fruit and veggies for nutrition. I can send you my plan if you'd like, send me a message.

I would change it to who can lose the greater percentage of weight so it is more even. I would go on a carb reduction type of diet like South Beach where pounds come off at the beginning in great amounts.
