I have a basement room, (No complaints, and I did want that place lol)and love it, but it gets really cold down here sometimes, and the vent is way up high, not letting in much heat. I know that taking more showers uses up tons of heat also, but I'm not good at dressing very warmly lol!

Any suggestions are welcome!

Key is layers. Also, invest in some sweatshirts/pants.

Wear layers of clothing...an undershirt, over that a knit shirt of some kind, over that a fleece jacket. Make sure you have socks and shoes on. A person loses most of their heat from their head, so as crazy as it sounds, you may want to wear a knit cap while you're down there. I sometimes even wear a scarf in the house, if it's particularly cold. Buy some lightweight long johns and wear those under your jeans/pants.
Can you get a small space heater to turn on only while you're down there?

Layer your clothing.
It is the air between layers that insulates and keeps you warm.
People in the north always layer.

A thick down-filled parka will keep you warm at the north pole, but you can overheat and sweat in moderately cold temperatures.
Layering allows air to circulate and you can always reduce the number of layers.

Here's an extra tip for socks, hats and gloves:
Wool is the only fabric that insulates and keeps you warm even if it is soaking wet. No other fabric can do that.

Layers are always good for dressing warmly. An electric blanket or space heater may help also. A mild, quick winter would be great also!

You could use a hot air humidifier and that would add moisture to the air making it feel warmer at lower temps.

Just wear flannel shirts or sweatshirts and a knit hat and that should help some too. We lose most of our body heat from our heads, so by wearing a hat you will feel warmer.
