If all religion became a thing of the past would the world survive..?
Yes, of course. There would, however, be somewhat of a philosophic void to fill in the minds of quite a few people; nonetheless, the world would live on, and in the process the possibility of a more peaceful world could become a tad more reachable. Eliminating differences of belief would translate into a tremendous bonus for political agreement to thrive lastingly.
I'm personally very much in favor of persuading the abandonment of the common God-based religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) as a starting point, and that done, to quickly follow up with encouragements to abandon Hinduism and the modern interpretations of Buddhism. From that point forward, I believe that a common and peaceful philosophy could take root to become a collectively beneficial tool for all mankind.
Reason would apply that an ability to provide better and wide-spread education would seem to be the obvious stumbling block to be initially overcome. Once solved, however, a common secular philosophy could become a case of "Onward to Eden."

I think the world would be a much better place if men gave up religion, a hand tool of the "Devil". Then man can just admit that the reason for war is oil, political power, unimaginable riches, to be the ruling Dictator, over people, tribes, tougues, and nations.
Leave God the heck out of it, and call a spade, a spade.

To give your question a fair chance, here's a thought out answer for you.
If all mankind gave up religion... I could easily see this...
Mankind would be torn between a feeling of 'ultimate freedom' with no 'parent figure' to judge thier actions...
and a feeling of abandonment... a total lack of 'hope'... nothing to strive for, nothing to tell them they've done well...
I suppose, in my mind... it would be alot like asking if a 5 or 6 year old child could survive alone... given that they could provide food for themself (a small farm, perhaps), and had shelter from the elements....
Yes, it's possible... but what kind of person would that child grow up to be in the end?

No!
First religion is mans efforts to reach God. Whereas, Christianity is God's effort in reaching man. Christianity is the life of Jesus Chirst, manifested, in our lives, whereby we are called Christians because we are Christ-like. This was the original meaning of Christianity - which has been grasped by many of the falsehoods of Christianity.
Now, we are living in an age of Spiritualism, where God is in everything. And mankind believes within itself that we have the answers to the problems in the world.
But, look at the condition of the world today, its getting worse and not better. Mankind says there's peace to come. But, each day the world is getting worser and worser.
But I have learned to live in and with the concept and belief that; the Problems before me, are never greater that my Lord who is with me and above me.

No way. Man has been living under the influence of Satan for thousands of years and his inclination has been to do bad all the time, even with the influence of good religion around. That is the only thing that has kept man alive for as long as it has. Since 1914 more than 100 million people have been slaughtered in wars alone. Man does not have the ability to survive the long term without God, it has already been proven. This whole system of governments is starting to fail big time with every passing day, and left unchecked it will self destruct. God has allowed it to function under Satan just to prove that point, that man needs God to survive. Soon this whole system of wickedness will be brought to en end and God will take over again, as was originally intended. Then man will thrive in perfection and unity under one true rule, God,s rule.....KECK

It would be a real tragedy if people gave up their religions. Religion can be a beautiful thing and if not used as a weapon for hate, can instill love, compassion, non-violence, and tolerance in people. That's what true religion, faith in G-d is about.
I think evil people would be evil regardless of religious faith or not, so giving up religion wouldn't solve the worlds problems. There have been plenty corrupt atheist societies- Nazi Germany and Communist Russia to name a few

This is in line for "Question of the Year.....NOT" What exactly do you mean by Humankind? All cultures, traditions, prejudices? If all men were left to their own devices without the leadership of some sort of traditional moral system, individual greed, jealousies and egotism would thrive. The world would be TOTAL chaos in every corner of every land.
Religions ARE the background of our moral fiber, it is not inborn.
However badly we are surviving in this world, it would certainly be worse.

Nothing would change.
Bigots would still have problems with the people they are bigoted against.
Wars would still happen.
Rapes would still happen
Murder would still happen
Nothing much would change at all, except Atheists wouldn't have a scapecoat anymore. Wouldn't make Atheists very comfortable if they HAD to admist ATHEISTS do terrible things in the world.
That would REALLY bug them.
When you ain't got a Christian, Muslim or Hindu to kick, all you can kick it is your own reflection.

No. Humans are terrible creatures. The world is doomed (at least mankind is) as it is, religion won't play that big of a part of it.
