Drink a lot of cold water. If you have a humidifier or vaporizer use it, as the moisture it will add to the room will help your throat feel better. If you don't have a humidifier, you can ue a teapot and boil water and the steam will enter the room providing some moisture. Just keep checking it so that the water doesn't disappear from the pot and start a fire. Shut it off before going to bed. A humidifier can be bought for as cheap as $12.00 and has an auto shutoff and you can put it by your bed.

The only things that I could suggest for a sore throat is citrus fruits (like oranges and lemons), lemons and honey mixed with hot water, gurgling with hot salty water, and hot beverages (such as tea, coffee, and hot chocolate). Do not only rely on these home remedies, but also stop by your local pharmacy for over-the-counter cold medications and cough drops to soothe your throat.
