Learning styles, based on Gardners Multiple Intelligences, are not static, they are constantly changing as we learn new ways of doing things. In fact you may be an auditory learner now but a year from now you will have acquired new skills, knowledge, and interests that will affcet the way in which you process infromation.

Depends, if you already have a certain knack for it, then yes. Otherwise I would say no because everyone learns differently.

If you desperately want to learn using visuals only, I would suggest working auditory into a visual learning style. Get a book on tape and try to read the book at the same time. It would mix the two together and hopefully give you a little success.

Also, I know that there are tests out there you can take to see what type of learning you are best at. If you have not taken one already I would suggest that you do and see what results you get.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I took a test and told me I am a rare brain in that I do best with both visual and auditory learning. Visually, I like to the notes in front of me or have diagrams, etc. whatever the topic maybe. Maybe you can highlight/star/underline the stuff that is the most important so it stands out at you (that's what I do lol). It's good you say your notes out loud because I know that helps me too (don't give that up!). I hope this helps. Good luck.

Nobody is only one style--we just have certain preferences.

Yes, you can definitely develop another style of learning. Even better would be to combine your auditory preferences with something visual or hands-on. Say things in your head but combine your studying with visual images, ideally drawn out.
