Yep, I have the same problem. On a MacBook Pro. And No, it's not on the finder widow. It's a folder in the Macintosh HD. The folder is named "usr". Inside that folder, there is 7 more folders named "bin, lib, libexec, local, sbin, share, and standalone". I'm sure it's not hurting nothing but It's just annoying. And why did it all of a sudden appear. Can I just delete it?

Hello junebug172,

Did you mean your user folder? The icon of the house with your name on it? You want to remove that from the side bar inside the Finder Window? Is that what you're asking about? You simply drag that folder out of the side bar. It should just "poof" just disappear from the side bar. It will still be in the Users folder on your Macintosh HD, but it just won't be on the side bar.

If you have another user that you want to remove from your Mac, you go up to the blue Apple logo at the top left of your screen and down to the System Preferences... menu command. Under the "System" area you click on the Accounts icon and you can delete or add accounts from there.

I hope that this is what you were talking about and that this helps you.
