I want to go on a spontaneous trip to Sweden, but I did not realize that my passport is overdue. If I want to leave in two days, its a thursday now, do I have enough time to get a passport?

You would have to rush it. It would only take like 5 weeks if you just renewed it, but if your leaving in two days, you would need to go to your local passport office. If there is none than go to your post office that takes care of passports and tell them you need it by tomorrow, and hopefully they will be able to rush it. I heard of someone getting it in less than 7 hrs. But they paid alot.

2 weeks if you pay $60 extra. Up to 6 weeks with a regular application. Go to passport office.

I know you can put the passport order on "rush" but even then it is a week or so... But that is for a new passport.

If you are just renewing it ... idon't know. I'd go to the Post Office and ask them.. ASAP

You CAN get it in one day at a Passport Office. You will need to show need (like an impending trip with a ticket), and pay the additional fee.

my friend just recently lost his passport, he was traveling to israel and needed it replaced in a hurry, he was able to use the rush service, however it cost him extra. it STILL took about a week start to finish to get it done, tho, and that was with having all the necessary materials on hand already (ss card, license or id, pictures, etc.,) otherwise it will take longer

I got mine within 10 days. But no guarantee. I believe a rush order costs 60 to 80 dollars extra.

If you want to leave in 2 days, a rush order isn't even that fast.

linsey is right - 2 weeks. But here is the website:

If you have a passport office in your city - you might be able to get it quicker....

Good Luck!
