No, you do not have a mental disorder. What you do have, or so it appears, is stress induced anxiety...aka OCD or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It is a common ailment and is easily treatable with prescriptions. Some physicians also recommend counseling, but in most cases it is not needed. Go see your doctor and describe the symptoms you are having. If it is appropriate, he will prescribe an SSRI drug to treat it.

You sound quite normal to me. Washing your hands 8 times a day is not obsessive-compulsive. As for grades, I felt the exact same way you do now. The difficulty breathing is probably due to anxiety and/or panic. It's hard to stop worrying about grades, especially if your parents judge you by them, but attempt to grade your self by how much you tried and how well you knew your subject. What matters most is in your heart anyway.
If things get worse, you may want to see a counselor - but you sound like a normal student to me! The housecleaning sounds a bit obsessive. You may be a great deal happier if you can see someone and talk and relax. Try Yoga and deep breathing. You deserve so much more happiness than you allow yourself! Once you realize that grades are really not that indicative of who you are or what you know, you'll be freer from worry. All the best!

You do not have a mental disorder, you're just under a lot of stress which is not good for you because it can cause health problems. And trying to do your best with school your are developing stress and anxiety until your at the point of having anxiety attacks that is were the breathing problems and not being able to focus. Just sit back and kinda chill out a little bit and take time away from your school work or whatever may be stressing you out.

Sweety, you would know if you had a mental disorder. If you wash your hands a lot, clean you house constantly, and worry about your grades it just shows you have good sense and a good voice in the back of your head.It shows your a good person and you were raised right. If your not always like this than it could just be because your under a lot of stress. It Will be okay,it`s not permanent. Trust me your not in anyway mental.
Best of luck,
A perfect stranger.

You probably have OCD. Just because you wash your hands 8x a day or some of your other behaviors constitute this condition.
How long do you wash your hands? When you clean your house are you obsessive about germs and the routine you use.
I would not brush it off as just OCD and you can live with it. It escalates sometimes to extreme dangerous measures. Talk to your family doctor about what is going on with you and be Truthful.

You may have an obsessive compulsive disorder. Noone on this site will be able to diagnose you or offer you any sound advice other than go talk to your parents, if you're not in college (you mentioned grades). You need to consult your doctor and possibly a therapist. You'll be fine, though, you just need to find the source of your obsessiveness and get treatment, if necessary. Feel better.

go to www.mentalhealth.com and read the description for OCD. if you feel that fits you, talk to a health care professional and they can assist you with getting proper treatment.
your description of your obsession with your grades could indicate just that of a serious student, or someone who may have a problem. the answer lies in the extent to which you obsess, how long you've been obsessing, and in general how bad the condition is. there are diagnostic criteria for it in a book called the DSM IV that psychiatrists use to diagnose people.
but seriously, look at the site and if you feel like it describes you and you can identify with it, then talk to someone about it. there's medication for it and there is no reason to live like that.
