I like the price and I like your choice, now all thats left is does it pass the inspection not being a lemon.

If the timing belt has been done then that is a BIG plus! Not a cheap service. That probably has a 2.0 chrysler motor in it so I would ask about the head gasket and see if that has ever been replaced. Also ask if you can take it to your mechanic and have a 27 point inspection done on it. I f they won't let you take it to your mechanic then you are really going to have to look at it very closely. open the hood, are the drive belts cracked, is there any grime or oily residue any where, If everything looks pretty clean then you might be allright. Ask for records of maintenance usually older people have a habit of collecting stuff like that. But all in all those 2nd generation eclipses are decent cars. In the end you are going to have to ask yourself " Does this vehicle appear to be well - maintained" If you can honestly say yes then you should be allright. 1600 is not a bad price for this car.

Great price..... I mean timing belt service would've alone cost $600.

I almost bought a '95 Eclipse but ended up with an Acura Integra instead. But it's a nice looking car with average reliability.

Always buy a car that is kept previously by an older woman because you know they do not drive more then 100 mph. If it is running good, its a great deal.

if everything works good and you can expect to get a few years out of the vehicle then it sounds good. Is it already inspected? Make sure it is first. Also if you are serious I would swing it by a friend who is a mechanic or a local mechanic and kick him a few dollars to check out the transmission and other expensive parts to make sure it won't nickel and dime you. Good luck!

that is good car but 150,000 is alot of miles. But is also 10-11 years old. assuming these are highway miles and depending on the lady( children/ or just messy) this isn't a bad deal.

As long as she kept good care of it and changed the oil regularly, it sounds good to me. Heck, $1,600 for a car that is in good shape? Sounds like a cherry to me.

Mitsubishi's do not enjoy the reputation for quality that Toyota's or Nissan's or Honda's do. I would be leery of one with that mileage.
