1) Did you mean to phase it as "add 2 letters on to make IT shorter" implying that adding 2 letters would alter the meaning of the first word to mean something shorter? If that's the case the word is "low" (basically meaning "short" in level of elevation) if you add "er" you get "lower" (meaning to decrease elevation, making something "shorter" in height), other wise if the original wording is correct, then the word is "short" as previously answered by others.
2) A mushroom (?)
3) Opposite of "MOOTRRHOSHUSM" is "uyjsyls!!6llu" (I think)
Oppostite of all CAPS is lower-case letters and counting from the opposite end of the alphabet (i.e. starting with Z) for each coresponding letter you get "nllgiislhsfhn", then flipped to the opposite order you get "nhfshlsiiglln" the if you flip it from upright to up-side-down you get what looks something like "uyjsysls!!6u"
4) Emblem? Hmmm? Again a question about the wording...
I'd guess there is no emblem, based on the first sentence. The words "two lies" , "dream", and "hands of deception" seem to imply that the next 2 sentences are false and have no real meaning, so the are not actual clues and there is no emblem.
