I need a humidifier that is quiet. I read that they help with nosebleeds. I don't know what kind I need for nosebleeds. Warm or cold? Or is there something better for nosebleeds than a humidifier?

include the website of any product or info and why you think so

During the cold months we use heaters to warm our houses. This dries the air which is causing your nose bleeds. A cool mist humidifier will work fine, but may I suggest that you also increase your personal water intake. Any brand will work so long as it is centrally located to where you sleep, because this is where you spend most of your time in the house.

I just bought a Vicks hot air humidifier for $35.00. It lasts for 12 hours and has an auto shutoff. I bought it over a week ago for when both myself and my cat got sick. I had a sore throat and by using the humidifier, it went away. In the winter, the air is more dry so adding moisture to the air can help us feel better and also make the house feel better at a lower temp.

There are expensive ones that are like a piece of furniture. I prefer the one I got because it's easy to move room to room.

A saline nose spray will work or a warm steam vaporizer. Both less expensive that a humidifier and just as effective.

You can buy either at walgreens.

The humidifier, cold or warm, will put moisture in the air thereby moistening your nasal passages and prevent nose bleeds. You very definitely need one if you're using heat in your home. Why do I think so? Because I'm a nurse....
