Sorry, You would regret it later. The laminate would crack and break .Also the laminate and the padding would form a vapor barrier moisture would collect mold would grow and on top of all that you would reduce the whole heated floor effect. It would be better to scrape off the padding (there is a tool on a long handle that works well) clean the floor and then install the laminate.

yes you can if the carpet is stuck down, is not too thick and is reasonably level - it will actually give you a great base for the laminate, provided that there is sufficient room under the doors etc.
NB: some laminate makers stipulate a 'carpet-type' underlay to help even out the bumps in the floor.

It wont stay. You need a very solid foundation to stick the laminate too. You will need to pull the carpet padding up. good luck on your project. cheers

Generally not, but I doubt it would hurt anything....its its really thick pad NO, but if its fairly typically thin you should be ok. Its not that difficult to remove though....it does't have to be perfect, just get a large floor scraper and get the majority of it up.

No. You have to remove the padding. Good luck with that.

No! I did this and was sued by the person who bought my house after I sold it! It looked fine at first and then ended up bubbling up and cracking.
