If they do not know evil, their thoughts cannot be evil.
If they know evil, their thoughts will destroy them.

God did not say that. That is man's interpretation of the way they sinned against God. The point is, man does know the difference between good and evil. It's called a conscience. Also, God gave man the 10 Commandments. Why are you trying to make something out of it that it isn't...you know the difference between the two, don't you?
If anything like such a thing happened, it was probably God trying to spare them the pain of knowing anything but the good He gave them in the Garden of Eden. That's why some call what they did Original Sin. Get it...Original !!!

Adam and eve disobeyed God: that is the original sin that all thru the old Testament sacrifices have been made for.
If Adam and Eve had listened to and obeyed God we would be living a better life in paradise.
He had the forbidden tree there to give them a choice of whether or not they were going to obey. Sure He wanted them to do good, but Adam and Eve decided to learn about the bad stuff, like clothes and hiding from God.

thinking they're a similar people who say God created each and every thing, and additionally that the autumn of guy became punishment for eating the fruit, no mater what, God created soreness and evil, and additionally did no longer preclude the soreness and evil because God is meant to be all understanding and all useful. God basically basically contradicts himself, and as a result won't be able to be genuine in the 1st place, no longer to show the lack of expertise for this variety of being. And if somebody says, "God won't be able to intrude with unfastened will" which potential God isn't all useful because of the fact the Bible describes him, or no longer all understanding.

that's the thing. the moral of the first bible story (adam and eve and the tree of knowledge) is to "not look at the man behind the curtain."
From the very begining the writers of the bible wanted to make sure people didn't think that they could be moral with out fearing the divine punishment of god.

Technically speaking, if they (Adam and Eve) had nothing else to refer to, it would be easier to control them. Sort of like robots, because they know nothing else than to follow orders. (In other words, Adam and Eve might both have had the intelligence of a 1-year old before they ate that Fruit.) Which would then give new meaning to the words, "blind followers".

It's not the difference.
For limited beings, their are two knowledges possible:
Innocence = the knowledge of Good;
Corruption = the knowledge of Good AND EVIL.
It is impossible, once one knows evil, to resist the temptation to use your knowledge to try to control the actions of others by convincing them that the actions that they do that you don't like are evil, humans automatically unconsciously attempt to step up into the throne of YHVH.
But we can, moment by moment, with the help of Jesus, step back into the innocent knowledge of only good, following the teachings of Jesus, particularly the parable of the speck and the plank (which teaches to focus primarily on your own righteousness, when you focus on anyone else's righteousness your own drops to nil).
But it isn't easy......and you have to be humble enough to acknowledge that you need help AND then accept it.

Because in their eyes all was good and they knew no evil existed therefore if they knew of no evil in their minds they would know no evil in their hearts.......just as the bible also says be ye as little children......to enter in to heaven. They would have been pure and innocent. Untouched by the knowledge of evil.
I think it is also interesting to note that pandoras box also has the same philosophy.

Because our God is a good God, He tells us the difference between good and evil in the Bible. He gives us guidance, inspiration and ten commandments to follow along in order to live a good life and inspire others to follow our steps. That's why it is important for us to love one another.
Since god loves us so much, He sent Jesus to show us the light of His ways. By this, He wanted us to follow His teachings by listening to Jesus. When Jesus was buried, He came back after 3 days and proved to the doubtful that He was the Son of God and that His promise to return was true.
Since then, He sent his disciples to tell the world of His power and love for us. They passed the teachings along, then the next generation followed suit, then the next and on and on until they reached us. Of course, there were no tape recorders or cameras around in the years 30 A.D., so they taught by word. That word was passed on and because it was written and not taped or photographed, many people find it hard to believe that He was here or existed...how sad, isn't it? WE know that Jesus was here and came down to earth for us to learn about and love Him. He is the reason for this season!
God bless you this season

yes, and thats why god put the tree there, and gave that instruction.
the ACT of defying, of grasping that free will, is in itself the awakening of the knowlege of good and evil. of free will.
the fact that there was a tree and that rule, is IMO proof that God wanted us to know and to awaken that.
eating from the tree was not evil, or truly "sinful" as such. the whole premise of original sin is absurd and bizzare.
without free will, and KNOWLEGE of that capability, one can't sin. without the capability to do wrong, you can't truly do good either.
for some, and in some viewpoints, it is as said, a "don't question, just obey" but in reality... its not like that. and its not evil. its simply, a gesture of realizing the nature of reality, and free will. and realization of that free will.

Old fable die hard why not use your head as backward as the legal system is it is still way ahead of those superstitious faerie tales you substitute for honor . right and wrong are reasonable if you consider that which furthers life as right and the opposite as wrong or use your golden rule . the people who started religion were not privy to the education of our day;maybe many today aren't either .
