I just got mine re-pierced about four weeks ago, and I can truthfully tell you that I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THEY HAD FINISHED.
Don't get yourself worked up about it, because it's not bad at all.
They let you pick out some posts (small earrings that have backs and don't dangle) and put them into a piercing gun (don't freak out about the name) which puts your earlobe right between the earring and the backing. Then they pull the "trigger", which puts the earring very quickly through your earlobe and right into the backing. Not scary.
They'll give you a bottle of cleaning solution that you'll have to put around the earrings every once in a while. Make sure you keep up on that; it prevents infection.
Have fun, and pick out some cute earrings!

It does hurt worse than a shot for about 1/2 a second. When you go to a place like Claire's or somewhere in the mall, they use a gun which has an earing in it. One side consists of the ring and one is the back The earing is actually sharp enough to puncture the ear and the earring stays in the ear. I think it hurts worse than getting a shot, but I've never had braces. So that being said, it really only hurts for a second. The main thing for me was having to turn them to clean it. If you don't turn it often enough, the stuff that secretes will dry and make the earring get "stuck" so when you go to turn it, it pulls and causes SLIGHT pain. Nothing unbearable.
OK. My next question is, are your parents going to take you to have it done? If so, you should check into a tattoo parlor/piercing shop. I know, everyone on here is going to think I'm crazy, but hear me out. Your ear has cartilage in it. When you use a gun, the ring is pretty dull, but sharp enough to go through the ear with force; however, the cartiladge tends to shred instead of pierce. Think of it like this. If a rock hits a windshield, it cracks the windshield in a spiderweb-like pattern. The same thing happens with your ears b/c it's so dull. Now, if you were to go to a tattoo parlor, they'd use a needle...a VERY SHARP needle. This is a slightly slower process, but some believe it's actually more hygenic (provided the place is clean). One good thing is that the needle is so sharp it barely hurts...and the hole is clean...meaning that the cartilage is just punctured and doesn't shred like it does with the "gun." They also tend to heal faster because the hole is such a clean puncture. It's more expensive, but it'd be worth your time.
I want to also add that I'm not some tattooed "freak" or pierced person. I've had body piercings (which are grown up now) and I could not imagine using a "gun" type thing. It is very well worth going and having the needle done!

It does hurt kind of like a shot. I never had braces so I don't know about that. If they use one of the piercing guns it pinches more than anything. It doesn't hurt for that long. Just be sure to do the follow up care so that your ears don't get infected. That is what would really hurt.

it's about as bad as a bee sting, and the pain can last for a few hours. Basically all they do is put little dots on your ears with a marker, make sure there even dab your ears with some alcohol. Then they put the piercing earrings into the ear piercing gun and shoot them into your ear then dab you ears with more alcohol . It takes less then a minuet to do both ears. You have to clean them with alcohol at least twice a day so they don't get infected and turn them. Leave the piercing earrings in your ears for about 6 weeks so they have time to heal then you can were any earrings you want. But try to make sure you always have earrings in your ears for a few months (or years) or they could still close and you would have to go throw it all over again. Good Luck!!
But the way it should cost about $20 for everything.

little kids get it done you will be okay. Make sure you have two people doing it at the same time. There is a loud bang as the gun pushes the earrings through the noise will give you more of a fright than the pain. You will have to spray your ears 3-6 times a day and turn your earrings. Make sure you wash your hands first EVERY time. you do not want an infection. Make sure the earrings (and all you buy in future) are nickel free. A lot of people are allergic to nickle. My daughter bought herself some sterling silver earrings and has been on antibiotics for infection as they were not nickle free. She is trying gold earrings now. Once pierced do not change them for 6 months, as hard as that is it is better for your ears

It doesn't hurt much it is only like a small little pinch for 2 seconds and tell them not to go 1.2.3 and then do it cause for those three seconds u might jump on 3.Also when you dis-infect the earring at night go around the back of the earring very carefully because you don't want infection.

I just got mine done. It doesn't hurt much--just like a little pinch. They ache a little afterwards, but mine stopped hurting less than an hour after I got them pierced.
Make sure you go someplace reputable where they use clean instruments. The person doing the piercing will make ink marks on your lobes to get them even, then use a little gun that snaps the earrings in. Not a big deal at all.

Ear piercing is simple and not as painful as you think. If feels like a little pinch and then it's over. It is nothing to worry about. The person piercing your ear will swab it with an alcohol pad, and then take the piercing gun and pierce you ear. It is over in about 5 seconds.

NO! I got my ears pierced back in march and I don't regret it at all. It's just a little pinch. Just ask for two guns at once.
Here's what they do. First, you pick your earrings, and they get out fresh earrings and guns. Then they steralize your ears, and mark the spot for the holes. Next, they line the guns up with the holes and "shoot!" It's painless and can be done in like 15 minutes. Just bring a parent because there are legal forms, and my dermatologist told me to do it at claires, and that worked.
Good Luck!!
