Why do people have such negative views of Islam. All it wants is some peace.
Think of the things it asks for: Respect your parents, feed the poor [the third pillar], be kind to your wife, honor your neighbor, don't lie or steal.
When people think of Islam they think of those people they see on TV who claim they are Muslims. Jihad isn't even one of the pillars of our religion.

I think I wish more about the faith of Islam. I am first to admit that I know very little about it.

I really got no problem with Islam tiself, it's the Extremists (of any religion actually) that I hate.
Islam (and many other religions) are similar to these rules....
1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm little children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
Do you know what these are?
They're the 11 Satanic Rules of Earth, followed by and employed by Satanists, both atheistically and theistically. Seems like common sense, huh?

It is because the media has focused on Islamic extremists. Truthfully, before this war started there were many more Christian extremists (I would believe) seeing as only 2% of all Islamic followers WERE extremists. Yet since peace and happiness doesn't grab ratings, the media focused on extremists and gave a biased opinion, so people who knew nothing about the faith of Islam saw it as violent and deplorable. With ignorance also a lovely alternative than spending any energy trying to get the truth, people decided to keep their ignorance and start hating Muslims instead of learning.

The thing is it does not provide rights that are the basis of western culture. that's the reason people attack it and there are some complete idiots out there ruining its name. If Islam is that bad that what do you say about all that preaching that christians do? I see christains preaching near the holy sites of other religions, what does this show? I am not criticizing anyone, just decide based on what I said.

Islam is a religion of peace. Sadly there are too many misconceptions floating around.
Even if non-Muslims don't agree with everything Islam has to say, they should at least agree to the fact that prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was a noble person who brought peace to war torn Arabia in just 2 decades.

im so sad to read the response, some people that dont know islam jst talk about them like they are muslim themselves...why people hate things that they dont even know?
Islam is a greatest religion in the whole entire planet...it help me to accept myself, and live as a muslim is a huge honor for me.If you dont know islam,please learn it deeply first before you say those insulting word

Islam is the only religion I would ever consider, if for some reason I was not a Jew. It is so much more logical than Christianity is. Muslims, who follow it as it should be followed-and most do-are some of the sweetest people I have ever met.

It's formally against the state of Israel and Zionists.
It's laws call for some harsh punishments at time, some of often inhuman by our standards.
Their main prophet married a 6 year old girl, again not in keeping with our standards and they praise him on an regular basis.
Their view of Jesus are in total dis-harmony with Chrisitains and are techically blasphemous.
Killing of homosexuals who refuse to change their ways is required.
They tax other religions.
They move, willfully and intentionally to other lands and nations and then INSIST on that place manking changes to fit their ways, which includes court systems and laws.
They are allowed to kill people who defect and leave their religion.
Anyone who is not Islamic can be killed at any time for any reason with total religious impunity as their religion only forbids them to kill their own Islamic sects (other Islamic sects can be treated as any adversary).
You can't question or interpret their writings, sayings of the Prophets and Allah without facing the wrath of Islamics who can seek retribution for such acts. As, for example, the English Author who wrote a critical book and was condemed to Death by Islamic religious figures and convert singer Cat Steven concurred with that condemnation. That author had to have body guards for almost 15 years.
Men are allowed to beat their wives according to the Quran (4:34).
Men are allowed to marry young girls who have no mensus cycle.
A man can be allowed to marry up to 4 women.
Women have to get the husbands permission to get a divorce.
Women have to have 4 male witnesses for rape cases.
Women who have been raped may face punishment themselves if they put themselves in a position that allowed the rape.
There is a manditory dress code.
There is a manditory amount and period of prayer each day.
They are prohibitionists and would ban even beer on a world wide basis if they could.
They are opposed to liberal thinking and would severely restrict science.
Some sects cut the female areas of girls 4- 6 years old as a matter of tradition.
Some sects will not allow a lone woman to drive her own car or talk on cell phones in public.

There is nothing wrong with Islam as it is just merely a religion and believe. The problem is the majority of it's believers who took away the clean profile that it once have. With it's believer trying to bring it down, how could everyone agree to it's purity and believes?

Becuase people like being blatent _ _ _ holes. However I'm sure they don't really judge people. I could care less about Islam. G-d bless them. Those bastards. Really, they're OK with me. Jihads are religious extremests and could or could not be considered Muslims. The Muslims are a good people. Let them be. Merry Part.
