Ki, Chi, or Qi, is real. However there are certainly limitations. I have formed an energy ball of Chi, but in a fight the Chi isn't gonna do much if any (unless you know dim-mak and even if you do it takes a whole lot more than Chi to utilise), the only real use for it is healing and relaxation. If you want to fly or do the crazy stuff from anime I'd try Lucid Dreaming, because you'll never be able to do any of that stuff with Chi. Chi has never been proven to exist, but it probably does. That's about all I know about Chi, but there probably a whole lot more to it. Your body cultivates it in your center (right near your navel). Also I'm pretty sure your Auric field has some Chi in it, and I know it's possible to see Chi and your Auric field, but it takes special training. Finally it may be possible to even move stuff with your mind, buy I'm not sure about that. Just don't mistake it with Occult and get into that stuff, because thats defiantly not a good idea...

The stuff in anime is fake, you can't move things with your mind and such. However, I've seen people do amazing things with Chi/Ki (also spelled Qi). I've seen video of the Dim Mak or death touch, a simgle touch to a pressure point with the focus of Ki making the victim go limp and fall asleep almost instantly. I've seen people "hit" by a person using Ki without touching the victim. There is more we still don't know about our world then we do know about the world and the most complex thing on our planet is life itself. We can go to the moon and beyond, but we can't tell you what makes our minds and bodies work. So, yes, it's possible to harness Ki. What it is I don't know, but it is there.

chi is real and it isn't.
Simply for the reason that chi is nothing, total emptiness.
The process of using chi or ki is basically one that envolves someone to relax the entire body and process the force an attacker sends towards you by absorbing it with your entire body and sending it back towards him. Someone who really knows how to work chi or ki can even send an attackers force towards him with twice or more times the force dealt to him. It's hard to explain as it is something one must experience hands on. If you really want to feel it check into a club that teaches chi qong or pa qua. You'll soon notice that even though these people do not use any muscle power whatsoever It feels like your fighting against a brick wall.

Ki is Ur inner power, it is located 1-2 inches below ur navel button
Ki is the Japanese word word for this and Chi is the Chinese word for this. If you think that it is fake try this, it is called the unbendable arm open your hand as far as it can go. Your fingers will tingle alittle place it on some ones shoulder, that you are going to show stand face to face with your arm straight out using no muscle's just have your hand wide open the other person will be unable to bend your arm they can try and try but can't now try it by using your muscle's then they can bend it with little or no problem. But as long as you stay relax it cant be bent.

Yes, chi is real however the modern day cinematic depictions of it is not real. I have participated in exercises designed to build up inner chi and have even been able to use it in attacks - although mildly! It is real and can be cultivated and used.
If you want to learn more about it just do some research online and at the bookstore. Pick up some books on kung fu and/or chi flow in the religion section.
If you want a practical application of it be prepared to wait a few years before being shown how to use it, or how to even sense it.
Yes, it's real and can be used - those who say it can't just haven't been shown it.

Chi is mostly BS. The idea of shooting chi out or using chi to kill with a touch is BS. The only kinda Chi I believe in is vitality, the will to survive and succeed. That is just mental fortitude and self confidence, it's not some ancient Chinese secret.

Ninedemons is right if chi was real it would have changed the world, and physics wouldn't exist.

I'm feeling super lazy, but if you want a long drawn-out elaborate answer on ki feel free to e-mail. Energy projection/manipulation and the uses of it all are an area I'm widely fascinated in and feel like I hold a strong knowledge base. =/. Just shoot a question, I'll even provide you with examples and try-at-home stuff.

Chi, Ki, or Qi is very real. As has been stated already, it is your inner energy. Everyone has it.

Everyone uses it in some form. Maybe not for healing, or attacking, but you use it without even knowing it (like breathing). Imagine Qi as a rechargeable battery. It needs to be charged to be of maximum potential. We can charge our Qi through meditation and exercise. But just like a battery, if we don't use our Qi, it slowly discharges. That is why you can't simply will yourself to have a large amount of Qi energy. You need to meditate and exercise to charge your Qi energy.

There are many examples of Qi. Have you seen demonstrations where martial artists can bend rebar with their throat? Acupuncture is believed to be a form of Qi manipulation. The tiny needles strike specific energy points, releasing the energy and allowing it to flow.

These are interesting questions because there is far more proof of the existence of Qi than there is proof of the existence of God, and yet there are far more believers in God than there are in Qi. Hmmm.

most definitions of "chi" are bs or hoaxes like chi gong and such are nonsense. Dillman's no-hit knockouts or "evil eye" knockouts or yellow bamboo's chi sheilds are total fraud.
[below are links to the videos for your amusement pleasure]

Even still the problem with chi is that there is no one uniform definition, some people refer to it as some mystical energy you can use to make you stronger, which is bs. Others refer to it as a word for "power", technique, structure, adrenalin, or even bloodflow (which with better circulation it would logically follow that the person is in better overall health).

These logical definitions are ones that would make the term "chi" in that context real. However the previous definition of it as something "magical" where you can perform superhuman feats or give or take chi like currency is a load of bs.
