Sorry, but I don't think that is a good method. You have to see her do her business outside and then praise, praise, praise her because she was such a good girl to go potty outside. You have to put yourself on a schedule. Put her on a leash and take her outside first thing in the morning and last thing at night and many times in the middle of the day, and especially after she eats. You'll do all of you a world of good if you buy her a little crate and put her in there when you are out of the house or when you can't watch her or at night. That's not saying she should only be left in a crate. You really have to watch your dog and make sure she has the opportunity to go potty outside. With all the stains in the house, you are going to have a hard time breaking her. You have to train yourself to train her.

Well first thing, take her out several times a day. Like when you first get up in the morning, hurry and take her outside. Then do that every 2-3 hours during the day and within a couple of weeks she should get the hang of it and then you can go longer without taking her outside. You'll probably have to walk around with her for awhile at first. And when you take her outside and it's been about 15-20 minutes and she still hasn't gone then take her back inside but remember to take her out about and hour from that time to make sure that you catch her before she goes in the house. hope this helps.

crate training is the best method for house training. get a crate that is only big enough to stand up, turn around, and lie down in, no bigger. leave her in it when you're not home, and take her out immediatly when you get home. wait until she does her business, and then reward her. punishment after she has an accident is pointless unless you see her doing it. their memory is only a few seconds long and punishment won't accomplish anything. when she's in the house with you, keep her with you ALL THE TIME! many people attach a long leash to their belt so the dog can't wander. this way, you know if she needs to go out, take her out immediatly when she starts acting restless. good lluck!

Get into a routine.
Consistency is the key.
If you have to leave her alone during the day, put her into an indoor pen with newspapers on the floor.
Don't get frustrated!
With a little patience and consistency on your part, you'll truly enjoy the outcome when you no longer have to clean up those surprise puddles and "gifts" from the carpet. Be consistent, praise often and get into a routine. Soon your dog will be by the door telling you he needs to go outside. And don't forget to take the cookies with you!

I recommend going to Petco or a major Pet Chain and inquire with one of their professional trainers.
Good Luck and Happy New Year!
