Honey, can you prove the cat was yours? If you have veterinary records showing you paid for care for the kitty you might be able to sue to get it back. Other than that:

You could ask her for it.

You could break in and catnap it (but I can't really recommend anything illegal).

You could leave a trail of tuna from her house to yours.

I'm sorry for being whimsical; you know how I am. But really, I would ask her first, and go with trying to prove ownership in court second.

Who is the cat most likely to be happy with? Who would devote the most care to the cat? Are the issues over the cat or something else like she kept the cat not you?
