I don't know what it is about girls who work at fast food restaurants but they are all rude and in general, complete bitches. It doesn't matter how they look (pretty, ugly, somewhere in between), they are all the same. I'am single, but I never hit on girls that work at fast food joints or at any other restaurant because I think that that would be totally lame. All I do when I go to these places is order my food and get out. I could care less about trying to hook-up with someone. I'am not an a**hole to them, I'am polite and unlike some people, I actually say "Thank You." Yet despite this, these girls are just completely rude. They act like someone ran over their dog or something. So what is it with girls and fast food jobs? Is it that these girls can't handle doing a little work?

Not to sound too old here, but I think there is a distinct problem with this generation of teenagers who live with a feeling of entitlement. I'm not sure what happened to good manner or good service for that matter. It seems no one cares about doing a good job. Almost like if they can't flip a burger at this place they can always go fry some chicken at the next place. There just seems to be no fear of repercussions. I remember working for $2.25 an hour and we didn't dare treat the customers rudely. We worked very hard.

It is correct that a Caucasian has to apply, but most Fast Food jobs are entry level employment with no experience necessary. So many minority's and non english speaking people apply for work at these locations. If you show up and can be trained to perform repetitive tasks, then you can earn money to help your future. I will only say this with out any racial bias. (EDUCATION IS KEY) If you study hard in school...learn to read and write and do mathematics, and today's computer skills...you will be able to find good employment. All bosses are suppose to be equal opportunity employers. And being bilingual or affluent with the racial profile in your area helps encourage good customer relations. But will always say English should be the primary language of the United States. JMHO Good Luck.

Maybe you're just going to the wrong fast food joints. I work at a Wendy's and I never have an attitude I'm very pleasant. Same with all the girls I work with. We always smile and tell people to have a nice day. We even joke around with costumers sometimes. We actually have a lot of fun. People love us...
PS I can do better, I'm not a single unwed mother, I'm not used to being spoiled, I am not a loser. I work in fast food because I like the people I work with and they are very good about working with my schedule as it changes regularly. I usually get any time I request off and I make 7.75...more than minimum wage. And I will get another raise if I continue to work hard. I do not plan on working at Wendy's for the rest of my life, I'm just paying my tuition. And I speak English and almost always get peoples orders right, the only mistakes are usually miscommunications...sorry just a response to all your other answers

Allow me to lay it out for you all as simple as I can.
If you DECIDE (key word here) to work in a customer service based role such as a fast food restaurant, then you will be expected to provide customer service.
If you DECIDE that you no longer wish to provide customer service because you dislike your customer service based employment...
THEN QUIT
No one wants to walk into a fast food restaruant to be served (I use that term lightly) by some miserable asshole.
Don't give me this 'aw poor me, I'm in a low paid crap job so I couldn't give a stuff'.
That might be true, but you should always perform the job to the best of your ability until you can move on. What is lost these days is work ethic. People want something for nothing. Why should the customer have to suffer the brunt of your poor attitude?
I worked at Dominos Pizza a couple of years out of school and customer service etiquette was drilled into us and we had no problem with it at all. Even with the crap hours and pay. We knew the job role, we knew the pay and we knew the hours. If people got fed up, they would quit and go find something else. No problems at all.
But on the topic of rude girls in customer service, I would have to agree. Alot of them come across as miserable and snotty, while others in trendy shops have this superior attitude.

I think it has something to do with the area of the fast food restaurant. I don't have a problem with anyone being rude to me at fast food restaurants in my area. (nice part of town) But I do notice that it gets worse in poorer areas. I think these rude people would be rude in an customer service business, even if it weren't fast food. And, I agree, they shouldn't work in a customer service business if they can't handle it.

Oh man I agree with the other Wendy's girls post. I actually worked at Wendy's for my first job. I was never usually bitchy either.
But on the rare instance that I was it was becasue of the creepy annoying managers and coworkers that I had. I actually had one of my 40 year old co-workers with no teeth say while I was washing dishes, "I like to see you play in bubbles". :| But aside from times like that I was really nice to customers.
I even coined the term "Have a Wendyriffic day" when handing out drive-thru orders.

Well first off you are wrong. I have met some very polite girls that work at fast food joints. Depends on the location. You have to realize that they deal with idiots all day. Not to mention the succseful career they are in. Not a good combo. Try eating elswhere.

welll, you have stereotyped them yourself, so i will do the same, these chicks are stuck in a dead end job cause they are single unwed mothers who dropped out of highschool and now they are looking forward to minimum wage and nothing good will ever come of their lives including their kids. Actually, ive met a couple nice girls working at mcDs, who were smart and had a lot going for them. Ive also met some total #$%^& who seemed to have everything going for them. Keep looking, and give the fastfood chicks a break even if they arent nice.

they're ALL rude? And the guy's are all fantastic? With that attitude maybe you're unintentionally giving off some negative vibe to them and they're giving it back to you - like a self-fulfilling prophecy: you expect them to be rude, so you act a little hostile to them, they see you being hostile and so are hostile to you and now you have proof that they're hostile - and round and round the circle goes. Just try a smile cos standing on feet all day sucks and so does fast food.

LOL! I worked in a fast food resturant when I was 16 as my first job. I didn't think that I was particularily bitchy or rude to any male customers.
But then again, it was only my first job. Out of college, I would never again work in that kind of environment.
Cut them some slack....I mean....would you be in a *great* mood if you worked in a fast food place????? I think not :)
