If I eat, it goes away for a short time and comes back. I think I need protein, sugar, iron, sleep, tranquilizers or a vacation. Any thoughts?

It could be diabeties since you say eating helps. It could also be an anxiety disorder.

You should have a glucose test (either handheld glucose meter, or blood drawn by doctor) during your "nervous" time. If you have low blood sugar, it's probably diabeties. If you aren't treated for diabeties, you could have some very serious problems later in life. Loss of sight, loss of feeling in feet or "pins and needles" in feet, all kinds of internal organ problems.

If it's an anxiety problem, you probably need to see a psychologist or therapist for treatment options.

They also make glucose tabs and they are over the counter in the pharmacy at most major stores. They are really just fancy sweet tarts with fine tuned sugars (glucose) for diabetics. They are for diabetics when their blood sugar gets low. You could try popping one when you feel nervous and see if it helps. I think this would be a sure sign of blood sugar related problems.

Anyway, go get checked out. Untreated diabeties can be very harmful.

Sounds like a panic attack. Exercise, meditation, yoga, and relaxation exercises may help. Therapy and medications may also be a good choice for you. Possible medications that might help could be Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa and Welbutrin. Xanex (pronouced Zan-X) is a tranquilizer and should only really be used for severe anxiety or if the above or similar don't help to ease the attacks.

I'm thinking a panic attack or low blood sugar. I would talk to a doctor just to be sure it isn't serious.

You may have low sugar at the time if you eat and it is relieved.
