WAIT!!! Before you take everyone's advice- TELL your therapist how you feel. They might be receptive and work on things differently. I am a therapist, and get frustrated when people forget that we are attempting to have a relationship with our clients. We can't be friends, but we have to be open and honest with each other. How can someone help you if you don't let them know how you are feeling? It may also be time for you to stop attending therapy for a while and take a breather. This may signal progress- not necessarily time to see someone new.

Lisa's amswer made smile. Some of the terapists I've known startled me quite a lot, i.e:

- Are you smart? ( Instead of - let's think what is best for you in this situation)

- Wishful thinking ( instead of Good bye, hope your tulips will do just fine)

- Many people do have extramerital affairs { they can agree on how long their affair could last - 3 months, 6 months} - (instead of - knowing you for 2 years, my dear, you'll have a panic attack only from thinking of cheating;

Thank you for your question, and thanks lisa for her answer - what a good example of anger management ( we can be angry about our therapists, right? And laughing helps as usual.)

That has happened to me when I´ve changed to a different therapist, I know exactly what they want to know, what they will ask first, and everything... If you don´t feel comfortable, you should consider a change.

Yes, I know just what you mean. I spent 4 months in PT getting the use of my arm and hand back. They could almost look at me a certain way and I could read their minds.

yes. oh yes.

it's all the same, telling a bunch of people your problems won't actually help in the end.

it just makes you feel more vunerable.
