I've recently moved North and experiencing far colder weather than I've ever known before. I was surprised to discover how thirsty I feel after walking a few blocks in the cold. After all, I'm not sweating a lot as with walking in hot weather, but it feels just as thirsty. What is the physiological reason for this?

Any exercise will make you thirsty. Cold or hot weather, it doesn't matter. You still need lots of fluids.
