I am 16 years old. Last night I was bike-riding with my bf and I started blacking out. He had to have his dad pick me up because I couldn't even stand up. I didn't eat anything at all that day (I woke up at 11am and blacked out at 5pm). This isn't the first time I've blacked out...

I am almost positive that I am not anorexic, but my mom believes otherwise. She is threatening to send me to the hospital if I don't start eating right.

I eat once a day, when I am hungry. If I eat when I am not hungry, I get headaches and get sick...

Can someone tell me what is wrong with me?

I have lost weight. Went from a BMI of 27 (165 lbs) in 2004 to a BMI of 21 (126 lbs) today. I am not obsessed with weight-loss. I am just never hungry.

You have to change your eating habits and convince your mum that you are OK. Eat 3 times a day, the headaches and sickness will go once you get used to it. Its very bad news to be blacking out through lack of food;

When I was younger, I would "forget to eat" so often it became a joke with my family. I would get so busy doing other things that I wouldn't worry about eating. The fact of the matter is that no one is the same when it comes to eating. Some people are constantly eating and other people don't feel hungry. Maybe you need to stimulate your appetite. Try eating oranges or orange juice--vitamin C. Put yourself on a nutrition drink for breakfast. Take vitamins. Try not to eat foods that may fill you up fast like dairy. If you can not eat a lot or what someone else deems as enough in one sitting, try to snack throughout the day. I used to do cereal in the morning, a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and then a dinner with a protein, a vegetable and a starch and I was fine. Check out your Body Mass Index --search it on Yahoo and then find out if you are underweight or at an acceptable weight. You should also make sure that you drink plenty and are not letting yourself get dehydrated. Good luck.

Is your weight right for your height? If you are not underweight you are not anorexic. Anorexics choose not to eat and are obsessed with what they look like and always think they are fat even though they weigh much less than they should do.

Eating once a day is something many people do but it is not healthy- you should eat breakfast and lunch and dinner.

You probably blacked out from dehydration- try drinking more liquids if you cannot eat more. Try to eat a few mouthfuls of something in the morning- can you manage cereal or fruit?

Maybe just orange juice would be a start.
Aim to drink at least 2 litres / 4 pints of water a day.

Well, it depends. I am guessing not becuase most people who are anorexic do not think that they have a problem nor do they acknowledge that something is wrong and you are doing both. Do you take medicine? If so, this could be some of your problem. I take medicine myself that has an appetite depressant in it, so I am never hungry and usually have to force myself to eat. There are also hereditary diseases that cause a person to not feel the need to eat. A thyroid problem is one of many. Have you mother set up a doctors appt. and get your blodd sugar checked also. There are multiple reasons that a person does not feel the need to eat, not just anorexia. Talk to your mother and explain how you feel. (Remember to remain calm when you talk!) Maybe a doctor can help.
Hope that helped!

Sounds like the beginning stages of an ED. Maybe not Anorexia or Bulimia, but a lesser known EDNOS -Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. It is just as harmful as the two well known EDs and could easily become either. Talk with a nutritionist or doctor to get you on the irght track.

Gee do you think anybody cares when I feel like that? No, b/c I don't go tell everybody.

That's the difference between someone who has an eating problem and someone who wants attention.

Just go talk to a psychiatrist and medical doctor and they will tell you if anything is wrong. If you asked if you had a problem with anorexia, it would appear you most likely do not. I can't even talk about what I eat w/out feeling totally ashamed that I eat at all. You have no problem talking about it.

I just had a baked Potato and Steak smothered in onions and cheese sauce. For desert, I had Vanilla Ice cream with whip creme and strawberry's all over it and some oatmeal cookies for an after dinner snack. I just opened up a can of corned beef and gobbled that down and slowly working on a Mars candy bar.

To top off my night I will have a Vanilla milk shake with chocoloate covered raisens.

Well, you should definetly be eating more. I don't think you're anorexic however, because you don't seem preoccupied with your weight. Try eating at least three good meals a day, even if you aren't really hungry, your body obviously needs the food.

Sounds like your mother is right. You may have a eating disorder and not even know it. I know sounds weird but it's true. I think maybe you need to be checked out, not saying your crazy or ignorant or that u don't even know your own body.Just to ease the mind of your mom and also urself. You may have high or low blood sugar. What could it hurt? Good Luck and remember what u do to your body will last until your older. So be kind to yourself and take care of the only body you have.

this is just my opinion, so don't go directly by it, just consider.

it does sound like you may be anorexic. you do need to eat more. since you are passing out, thats a sign of your body not having the nutritions it needs to function.

you definately need to see a doctor. feeling sick may be from not eating and when you do your body isnt used to it or they may be other problems with your sugar levels and things of that sort.

i am not a doctor so i don't really know. so see a doctor soon!
