This is an 8 week old puppy. She is not even 1 lb. yet. My daughter stepped on her and she had a huge hematoma that went away slowly throughout the day. She will eat from a dropper or bottle, and she has been having bowel movements and trying to sit up. Seems like something is wrong with her neck but she tried to hold her head up sometimes. Her ears and gums started turning bluish around mid-day. Sometimes she is flopping around and sometimes she just lays there. It is not getting worse, but not better either. Please help!

You should have taken the puppy to the vet as soon as your daughter stepped on her. Good grief............take that poor little thing to the doggy emergency room NOW! My guess is that it is already too late, but at least show a shred of decency and get going!!

Like everyone else says on here please take your dog to the emergency vet. If there seems like there is something wrong with her neck, then there is something wrong with her neck. If the ears and gums are turning bluish that mean there is a loss of blood in those areas. That's best thing you can do @ this moment.
When my puppy jumped out of my arms and she was limping on three legs I freaked out and immediately took my dog to the vet 30 minutes later (had to find an emergency vet and then drive there during those 30 minutes). It ended up just being a sprain but it could of been worse a broken leg or fracture. I took my puppy in today because she was scratching @ her ears too much (most people would say it's nothing to be aware of because she's just scratching but when you have dogs/puppies and you are a true dog owner you just know) and it ended up being inflammed with a ear yeast infection. I prefer to be safe than sorry. Being a puppy they are more susceptible to long-term if not permanat to small accidetal damages. This damage seems if if it can have a permanant effect on your dog.

Getting a dog for Christmas is a horrible idea. Especially one that small and running around freely with kids in the house! You are just asking for trouble. The poor dog is dying and you are sitting here on the internet. You don't have to be a vet to know that the head flopping around and the bluish gums and ears are not a good sign. What are you waiting for??? If your dog makes it through this, I hope you will be more watchful of your daughter from now on. A puppy that small should not be walking around while children are roaming. Please take your dog to the Vet ASAP.

If the dog is very young and not even a definite pound, take her to the emergency vet and give some Benedryl in case she is uncomfortable or in pain. Benedryl will sooth her if she's in pain and may act as a sedative to make her less panic-y.
Blue gums can be a sign of internal bleeding. I've stepped on my dog a couple times too, but it was never really serious. Stay strong-- take your Chi to the vet and hope for the best. Don't panic, I'm here for you!

You stated in an answer to someone's question that you have been breeding dogs for 7 years.Do the dogs a favor and stop it!Any ethical breeder;ANY responsible dog owner would have known to take the puppy to the vet immediately. You have no business breeding ,or even owning dogs if you're going to let them suffer.I suspect that the puppy will die,if it hasn't already,as you chose to ask a bunch of strangers on the internet about a life and death decision instead of picking the puppy up and running it to the vet right away!!!

Your dog has serious internal damage and maybe bleeding internally and very well may die in the short term. You NEED TO GET TO A VET NOW. If your vet is closed see if there is a 24 vet hospital or ER in your area. If you wait until morning there maybe nothing you can do for her. I am sorry to scare you but what you are describing is very serious.

That is a terrible situation. Sounds like your healer needs a touch up on doggy house manners... to the extreme! Keep a watchful eye on him at all times. If he so much as growls at the other dogs, get him pinned to the floor. Thats what mother dogs do to their pups when they're young.. doing this will show you're in charge. He needs to be able to play nice with the other dogs too. It sounds a little strange that he'd do that out of no where... you said they grew up together? You may even want to check with the vet on this one... it may or may not be a sign that something is wrong with Taz. Either way, at this point it couldnt hurt to check with them and at least describe what had happened.. And of course getting all your males fixed will be extremely helpful. None of your dogs should be "alfa" in the household. That title belongs to you and your hubby only. Good luck hun, Hope everything works out :]

Sounds like she has neurological problems, or possible brain damage from this accident, or her neck may be broken. Your puppy needs to see a vet. She should have been at the vet right after this happened.
Please take your puppy to the vet now.

You need to take that puppy to the vet asap! If you have one take it to the all night clinic. It does cost more but it will be worth it if you dont want something severe to happen to it. If you wait til morning it may make things worse. Goodluck!
