Hi. I myself also have BPD. I was diagnosed withit about seven years ago. Have you tried a group called DBT . The real name for it is Dilectical Behavioral Therapy. I know some theripists know where there are some of these grops located in there areas. It really helped me. I still have problems though. Mine is more the push away stuff, and alot of the moodyness. people really dont know how to take me and i dont know how to take me half the time either. It is a hard illness that confuses people from one min to the next. the classes are very helpful though.

Poetgirl7...'s answer is brilliant. The TARA website is excellent.

"I wouldn't join a club who had me as a member," comic Groucho Marx once joked. Yet, for many who have a mental illness, group identity is the key to empowerment and overcoming self-stigma.

The one thing which I found was incredibly helpful was to find someone either with BPD or who knows about it, who you can call on for one-to-one advocacy and support, even if it just means a chat.

The internet and support groups are fantastic resources, as is a good therapist and appropriate meds, but a buddy you can relate to face to face is priceless. I know - I offer this kind of advocacy and support as a volunteer in Australia.

The real tragedy is of course, that government's don't like funding such local, community based support services.

On a private notice - she is a needed individual in his existence; they're approximately to get married! that is not uncomplicated seeing your baby with somebody you will possibly no longer approve of, yet you do no longer desire to alienate your self out of your son and his bride-to-be so it may be terrific to easily take a step returned. This youthful woman is handling some thing very confusing which she would be in a position to't administration, and your son appears like a extraordinary, information, affected person, and worrying youthful guy.

How do you know you have Boarderline Personality Disorder?
I have it & I too have the mood swings - no anger fits, no hitting
things or people.

I have to say that with your description, you sound like you are
Bipolar to me... Your waking up during the night to eat - you are
eating to make yourself feel better. Let's face it - we all do that.
I too, feel the fatigue. Most with BPD are also cutters - do you
also have that as well? Maybe if you gave a little more info I
could tell you more?? think about it....

I have that diagnosis and co-run an email support group for people with bpd and/or bipolar. Having the support of people who understand is priceless. My group is on yahoogroups and you are welcome to join. There are also a lot of other groups out there. Here are some websites for more info on bpd. This is a very hard thing to deal with having, it's confusing and painful.
