Doesn't matter if you are 5"2 and no not everyone can 3 step when they first start out even if they are tall, because saying that would mean anyone that's tall should be good at hurdles and we know that is not true. You have to have speed and the technique down before that can happen, I have seen taller hurdlers who still 4/5 step and had to change from sprint hurdles to intermediate hurdles(400MH), and I've raced against short hurdles who were great Gail Devers for example. Try this drill and keep working at it, hurdles take time and lots of drills and lots of practice , keep at it and you'll get it, good luck and remember this "any fool can run in circles, but it takes a wise man to hurdle".

First, the hurdles must be brought in closer. Shorten the distance between the first and second hurdle so that you can 3 step without bounding. about 2 feet
* Use your feet(2 steps toe to heel) to walk off the distance you moved the hurdle from the original marks, now walk off the same distance for all of the other hurdles.
* Run these in practice till it feels like you are getting too close to the next hurdle then move all the hurdles a step forward.
* The transition takes time, do not force the 3 step, so "just run" go over the hurdle with what ever leg comes up. Eventually 3 stepping will occur by itself.

There is no magic "trick." It just takes practice. You have to give 110% in pratice to master a 3-step, because the fear you mentioned must be COMPLETELY overcome. If you are 5' 5" or taller you CAN 3-step every time. You need to believe in yourself and put in the practice hours.

And did I mention that you will fall down in practice? Yep, part of being a hurdler. No biggie, just get up and practice more.

you hit rigor mortis once you "die". it incredibly is whilst the lactic acid on your legs is in simple terms too lots and there is no longer adequate oxygen on your muscle groups to maintain them shifting. your coach is unquestionably no longer doing you any favors. set up the hurdles for the 1st 2 hundred m, and run a 400m, going over the hurdles first then sprinting the final 200m. no count what you run, the main suitable work out you're able to do is working 100m greater beneficial than what you run. after doing a piece out like this two times a week for a pair weeks, attempt and run for time and not in basic terms distance. in case you additionally could make it sub-70 you have a good %.. the clarification at the back of this is that in case you run a 2 hundred, you're no longer attending to hit the factor the place you hit rigor mortis. working a three hundred will in basic terms get you to the factor the place you do, yet working a 4 hundred supply you greater beneficial room to excel. as quickly as you have made it to a factor the place you in basic terms hit rigor mortis some meters before the end line, you're in good shape. in case you like my hurdle work out, be at liberty to e mail me and that i gets it to you.
