you may want to find info about the mormons (SALT LAKE CITY,UTAH) they keep lots of info on family histories and they do something with d.n.a. testing also to find your lineage. sorry, i don't have details but it's a start. i'm told they keep very accurate records. no, you don't have to join their church or anything, at least that's what I hear.

It is possible, but expensive. Try interviewing your family members. Also, the Mormans are real good at hunting down family lines, you might check out some of their websites for help.
