God had to come up with a plan to offer salvation to people again after Adam and Eve disobyed God in the Garden of Eden. After that, men were required to give blood offerings annually, of their best animals, to be forgiven. But this was not perfect, for they were only offering a sacrifice on an occasional basis. By sending Jesus, who was born without sin, to take our sins upon Himself, and suffer the cruelty of the the beatings, the humiliation, and the death upon the cross, then God was able to allow all humans to come to Him, through the price Jesus paid. So if we believe that Jesus is God's only Son, that Jesus died on the cross and paid our debt of sin for us, we can receive salvation, and the opportunity of eternal life, as long as we continue to share God's love for others as He shared it for us. Since God was, is, and always will be, there is no one to give him a rule to follow. It was His judgement that by this sacrifice, all mankind would have the opportunity of eternal salvation, rather he chooses to accept it or not.

Ever heard of freedom? Is it free? How about a loving relationship, does it cost something? Some of the best things in life, are not free. Children, family, etc.etc.... It is just the way it was. Basically, God and sinners, cannot be together. Since we are sinners, we are basically screwed. God wasn't satisfied, that we are lost forever to him. This is why it had to be that way. Even if we died for our own sins, it wouldn't make the way back to God. Jesus saw the bigger picture, the joy he would have with us forever and ever. It was worth it to him, to have a chance to be with us. Amazing.....

It was God if you believe in the religion, and it was Paul if you think it was just a story.

in order for all of mans sins to be taken by one person. they themselves had to be sinless. God knew his son Jesus could do it. So, god himself sent him and gave him for all mankind.
