Early mornings and right before dusk. They have poor night vision so that is when they are the most active.

I've known some who had luck with this species at or just south of Waxahachie. Sometimes as further south near Waco.

If you can run into a place that has quite a gathering of Carp, Buffalo, Suckerfish (Quillbacks), then your chances are good. If you're able to use Suckerfish for bait, be ready for Mr. Flathead.....Man those things are fun!

well there is no certain time to find them. But in the evening and the morning when the light is to your advantage you might be able to see them. Remember, fish can see you even though they are in water.
