I've been taking Adderall XR @30mg/day for a couple of weeks, and a lot more hair is falling out than usual when i take a shower or brush my hair. i looked at the PI sheet and it didn't even list hair loss as a side effect. i did some internet searching and found that it is rare.

what do you think? has it happened to any of you or to someone you know?

I have never run across hair loss as a side effect of Adderall XR...either with my boys or with any patients I've had that have been on this medication. That does not mean that it isn't affecting you this way as everyone is different. Please be sure to voice your concerns to your doctor as it is also totally possible that your hair loss is due to a condition not yet diagnosed and totally unrelated to the medication.

Adderall does not cause weight loss. Some people have loss of appitite as a side effect from it and wind up losing weight because they have no appitite and don't eat as much as they did before but this is not something that happens to everyone. Not all people have side effects from adderall.

I am not sure, but my daughter was taking it for a while. She mentioned that she was loosing hair by the hand fulls at times after using it a few months. She stopped using it. It scared her. She is 22 yrs. old. I am tempted to start taking it myself, I am taking the Amphetamine @ 70mg/day now for 4 yrs. and I believe my body is getting used to it. It lasts about 5-7 hours and starts wearing off. I am 49 years old. Sorry I could not be much more help. Sincerely, Earl.
