To make chips, cut the potatos in thin fingers, put some oil over it and turn the power to the maximum level (800, in your microwave admits it) for around 7 minutes.

There are several ways to cook potatoes in the microwave. The ones for baked are pretty much all listed, except I put mine in a Tupperware container that was made for baking chicken in the unit. I salt the skin and spray them with PAM or brush them with EVOO they come out perfect every time, and I cook them for at least 8 minutes (depending on size) sometimes longer.
Here is my favorite recipe: Take about 3 medium sized potatoes, cube them up, add butter (I use 2 tsps. or pats) add a mashed clove of garlic or garlic powder, just a tad of salt and liberal on the pepper. Cook this in a sealed container or in a glass container with a cover (you want the potatoes to steam themselves done) cook for about 8 minutes it may take as long as 15 depending on how good the microwave is. When you take them out be careful for the steam. Sprinkle a generous amount of parsley flakes or fresh parsley over the top and give them a stir. Your family will rave. I take my taters to every gathering and they always get eaten all gone. If you are lucky to have left overs, it is a great base for potato pancakes. Good luck and happy tater eating. Nana

Pierce the potato all sides with a fork, put on a micro wave safe plate or paper towel. Depending on size cook on high for 4-8 min. Check either by piercing with a fork, should go in easily, or ' my way, give a little squeeze to see if soft. If not done turn over, and cook at one min. intervals.

Wash the tater, poke some holes in it with a fork, place it in a sandwich baggie, and nuke it for approximately 4 minutes, depending on the size of the tater and the power of your microwave. Check the readiness by poking the tater with a fork for tenderness. Putting it in the baggie keeps the skin from getting dried out or tough. Be very careful when opening the baggie because of the steam.

You actually can't cook a potato fully in a microwave. you need to put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and then you have to put it in the oven wrapped in foil at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
i know it takes a while but it turns out really nicely.

It is really easy but a twist would be to rub the potato in bacon grease (yeah, I know, clogged arteries, but ohh so good) and roll in salt. Pierce several times with a fork and put potatoes on a plate...in a circle, about 15-20 minutes if you have several potatoes.

it depends on what kind of potato; baked potato- poke several holes in the potato with a fork set time to 5-6 min if a fork goes into the potato easily then it is done but if it is still a little hard try 1 min. intervals until you are able to stick the fork in.

you pierce the potato and depending on the size of the potato and the type of microwave you have, you set it to the potato setting.

Like you wash them first cause they are like really nasty dirty you know. Then um you like pock holes in them with a fork cause if you dont there was like a freind of mine that did this and he died cause the potato like blow him up!
I sware, I sware! Promise
So like then you dry them of ok. And then you put them in the micro wave and close the door.
They take about ten minutes so its just enough time to go do nails or something fun like that. You know! OMG
