well there's this guy that i've known all my life and were friends and both of us have liked each other but now i dont like him more than a friend and i have no idea if he has strong feelings for me. How come everytime i ask him a simple question, he always answered back with i dont understand what you mean, when i know for sure that he knows what im talking about. For instance, I asked him why he skips class everyday during my lunch period to come and talk to me(im in high school). He had no clue what to say to me, i basically had to dig it out of him until he eventually said that he liked talking to me, and then a couple of weeks after that i told him that he's very shy when he's talking to me and he denied it and said that im very shy when we're talking. Is there any questions i can ask him to find out if he likes me or not without directly asking him if he likes me. Or if he has any feelings for me because i'll never understand him.I just want him to be comfortable in talking to me

Apparently he is taking the risk of cutting class to see you, so you really do know he does like you.
You say above you only like him as a friend, have you told him this and have you told him you do not want to persue a relationship with him? If not, he is waiting for you to show some signal that YOU are interested in HIM more than a friend.
You need to set a good example for one thing as his friend, and let him know cutting classes is not cool and since you are his FRIEND, you want him to do the right thing by staying in class where he belongs.

im sure there are tons of questions were you can indirectly aviod the serious problem but that not the way to go.
you have to be mature and confront him not matter how hard. or write it down and give it to him.

Because he doesn't want to tell you that he has been ditching class because he is probably smoking in the restrooms all period. I hate those people.

Just ask him. The worst he can say is no. It apparently is already a little awkward if you have the feelings there. So just ask him.

maybe you should tell him to go back to class and chat with you after school. it sounds like the guy really likes you. you need to set him straight about how much you like him back.
