It is hard to believe so many folks have this backwards. Salt goes in the one with the fewest or smallest holes. Pepper goes in the one with the largest or most holes. If you don't believe, find S&P with the names on them and look at the tops.

The one with the most, or sometimes larger holes is always for the salt,(people use more salt than pepper)

The salt should always be in the one with less holes. Salt is finer than pepper thus easier to get out.

The pepper is the one with a little bit of holes because you don't need a lot of peeper to make you sneeze. And the salt is the other one

I always use the Crystal Clear ones that way people can see Salt White & Pepper Black Lol..

The shaker w/ the larger holes is for peper (peper is larger in texture). Salt is has the smaller, and sometimes more holes.

funny you should ask because at xmas dinner my aunt was very confused because they werent marked but the salt has less holes than the pepper
