Don't believe what ever you heard from your friends about drugs, opium or etc.
One things you should know, if you just come to Thailand for drugs or whatever and the local police get you. Your life will be totally changed.
You don't know how seriously the Thai government kill the people who sell the drugs in the news.
So don't mess up with your life and don't think the people don't smart as you do.

Opium dens?. You might be talking of ancient history. You cannot find opium in Thailand. Even on the place called Golden Triangle, where poppy fields were abundant ages ago are no more. You can secretly buy grass or metamphetamines though.

It's very very easy to get drugs in Thailand. Just know the right place, right person and right time. The backpacker's place like Khaosan Road or Pub at Kho PhiPhi would provide you for sure.
BUT...think twice!! Do you want to take a risk??? You could be in jail forever (not really forever :P) because police may know the same right place, right person and right time too.
If you go to Thailand, you have more better things to do. Believe me!!!

You can get ANYTHING in Thailand. If you want drugs you can get it and more - including a free ride to the Bangkok Hilton.
You DO NOT want to be found with drugs in Thailand!

so easy. Many bar owners, use the ladyboys and hookers to sell it. If you really want it, then ask a taxi driver you know to get it for you. Iw will take him 10 min. But take care he is not close friend to a police guy.
best to keep away from it, but its everywhere

been there twice, never saw any evidence but the undercover police are apparently very active and the penalties are very severe.
Never do drugs in Asia, Australia is a lot more tolerant.

Probably very easy...but easier to get caught and spend the rest of your life in jail...the punishment is swift and hard there. Don't do it.
