Theology has Theo in it which is the Greek word for God. All those fields are man made attempt to study a facet of life but what sets theology apart is that the others want to answer HOW does it work but theology wants to know WHY.

Theology refers to the the field of study and analysis that treats of God and of God's attributes and relations to the universe; study of devine things.
All other -ologies refer to the study of something else:
geo-logy is the study of the earth;
anthropology is the study of human kind;
basically it's the combination of two words, the word the particular study is referring to, and the word logia, which means, you guessed it!, "study" in greek.

Besides the fact that Theology is the study of the nature of God, of religious ideas, beliefs and practices, and especially of humankinds relationship with God, I guess not much. Of course, God is the main thing that sets it apart. They are all studies of something.

Honestly I think it's beacuse it's such a highly personal issue. Emotional issues hinder our ability to think and act rationally. Surely we see that occur in this forum.
Also, it's an ology that can't be proven or disproven. That's why the realm of spirit is so cool!

Theology is God related, so it's philosiohy.
The others are fact based, so the are science.

Well, theology is the study of God, literally. Theology seeks greater understanding of God, ideas about God, scripture, faith, church, etc...
