I would like to have a devotional prayer journal that is made for young women, or women in general. I want to grow closer to God, and I think that if I kept a journal of everything each day, I can have an opportunity to learn some new things about my self and allow my relationship with God to grow. Any suggestions?

First you must understand that God don't see us men and women. He sees us according to the love we have for Him, our Lord Jesus Christ. Journal are fine to have, but if your heart really aches for His touch, prayer is the number one connection between you and God, not Mary, or Peter or Paul, but our Lord Jesus Christ. A journal is not the connection to who you are, but a remembrance of your past to help you understand how you felt on that day you wrote it. If you included a prayer to God on that day, it may help you understand more about yourself.

My advice is also to read the Holy Bible and allow your heart to open and write what you read in the Bible that day. The most glorious way to God is through prayer and only prayer. You may know more about your self then you think.

Rick Warren's a Purpose Filled Life would be a great book to start on and I'm sure if you went into any Christian book store you'd probably be able to find something for women by Pastor Warren. You might just look for books and journals that say women's devotional journals etc.

Good luck.

Keeping a journal is a real nice idea, but try not to get into reading devotional prayers written in a book. Look, He's your Heavenly Father - the closest relative you have - use your own words, thoughts, feelings, and just simply talk to Him. He wants to hear from his children, not be read to, ya know?

Not too many know this , but if you go to a religious book store . ask them that you would like to read the book of ( RUTH ) start here , can you believe it a woman wrote a book in the Bible and not many men know this ! One thing I have to advise to you , always ask Jehovah our lord and God to please fill you with understanding through the Holy Spirit to be able to understand what you are about to read . After you get done reading , always thank Jehovah our lord and God for the word he has filled you with , and always include a full section from Psalms from the Bible to fill your Spirit with strength and joy .

buy a jurnal and write prayers from your heart to God.

and also buy novinas to saints, Mary, The Holy Spirit, and the Sacred Heart.

If you want one that is already writen, the liturgy of the hours is good. My mom uses it all the time, and she is the closest layperson to God I know.

All the Max Lucado books and stuff is really great! I'm not sure if you've ever read any of it, but if he has any journals or anything you should check them out!
