1st of all, hell exists. Who said it doesn't.
2nd, about the story of Lazarus and rich man: Lazarus went to a place called paradise which is a place of comfort for the saved and the rich man went to hades or Sheol in Hebrew (it's not hell) which is a place of torment for the wicked. It's believed that paradise is a section in hades. All the souls in there await the judgment when Jesus comes again, then The saved will ultimately (after the judgment) go to heaven and the unsaved go to hell (Gehenna) (Rev. 20: 12-15).

Lazarus was a spiritually minded man seeking God. The rich man was seeking the world and placed all his trust in money and material things to sustain him. The consciousness of heaven can’t be seen by one whom has endorsed his self-imposed blindness to the gate of heaven. The rich one was blind to Spirit, but alive to mortal error. Lazarus was alive to the truth. Jesus just told it like it was, but we, even today, still have doubts as to if Jesus was for real or just a big liar, and within the broad spectrum of all of the Christian splinter groups, there is still confusion in regards to Jesus’ teachings and heaven and hell.
Hell will come to those who have use for it, but for those who built on the rock, hell will not be known.

God operates outside the time space contiuum. What Peter staes as furture might be in your future not the spiritual future. Lazarus was a story of illustration. There is no contradiction, only lack of understanding on your part and it seems to me you are not trying to understand cuz this is pretty simple stuff. Not honest to ask a question you really do not want an answer to. If your gonna be the de de de then do not pretend it is others.

If I thought for a second you real;ly wanted an answer then I would spend however long it took, but I do not think this is the case.

The rich man went to Hades, not Gehena. The "hell" that exists now is similar to the ancient Greek concept of Hades - an underworld, or holding place for wandering souls awaiting the final judgment. Gehena is the lake of uncreated fire, the final revelation of the glory of God on earth. Gehena is not a place, but a state of being that will occur in the future.

I'm a Christian, I believe hell exists, and I believe an awful lot of people end up there. Jesus certainly believed in hell and in his expert opinion, "the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it."

you're attempting to make the previous testomony say some thing it wasn't meant to place across. The "barbaric savagery" you point out--have you ever considered what different international locations (Assyria, for one) did to conquered peoples and international locations? Did you ever study of Sennacherib's prism or the Stele of Shalmaneser? do no longer talk with me or anybody else approximately "savagery" or "cruelty" till you analyze some collateral information. And definite, the previous testomony peoples knew approximately Hell. in line with threat they did no longer have the certainty that we did. approximately all that they had became the 1st 5 books of the Bible, till greater of the OT grew to become obtainable, and till the ministry of the writing prophets got here alongside. those saints, and anybody else who experienced salvation till now Calvary, have been saved via faith. in the event that they have been saved, they went to Abraham's bosom; if no longer, they went to the placement of torment. no could be "aggravated" with Jesus (and the place did you get that theory?) for giving added information approximately Hell. area of His earthly ministry became committed, inspite of each and every thing, to correction of misguided concepts and teachings. Please additionally do no longer forget that Jesus died so as that no-one, yet no person, could could flow to Hell.

Ther is a temporary abode of the wicked dead where they await final judgement and the lake of fire. Out of the frying pan, into the fire; so to speak.

Jesus did not lie and there are no contradictions. What makes you think there's nobody in hell right now? If Lazarus went directly to heaven and the rich man directly to torments of hell then yes there are folks in hell now. Jesus went to hell meaning the grave and has the keys to death, hell and the grave as He is the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. I read today that this may be a parable. Not sure I agree. There are too many passages describing hell as being a real place of torment where wicked souls go after physical death. There are already souls in paradise as Jesus told the thief on the cross, "THIS DAY THOU SHALT BE WITH ME IN PARADISE" Well, the third man on the cross that day, his fate was opposite of paradise that same day.
Both Jesus and Stephen when they died committed their spirits back to God and gave up the "ghost".
This is a very deep subject since there are several meanings for the word translated to "hell" from grave, sheol, gehenna, and haides. Our understanding of these mysteries of Godliness such as the resurrection and judgment day come from rightly dividing all the scriptures pertaining to these topics.
Yes God will once again pour out his wrath just like He has delivered righteous judgment in the past through drowning Pharoah's armies, destroying Sodom and Gomorra, the flood in Noah's day, and when He comes again yet another great and final day of judgment.
It also appears that Sodom and Gomorra have yet another judgment to face than the earthly judgment they faced as in Matt. 10:15 "Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city." and we will be judged by Jesus as in John 12:48 "48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day."
Heb. 9:27 27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
Everybody will go to judgment after they die and usually folks only die once. God knows when that is.
There is both a first and second resurrection and a first and second death mentioned which are key to these Bible mysteries. Melchizadech possibly, and certainly Enoch and Elijah did not taste of the first death but were "translated" and "caught up in a whirlwind" and in which a chariot and horses of fire are mentioned.
David said of his dead child II Sam 12:23 "..now he is dead, ... can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."
Job 14:7 says "For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, MAN GIVETH UP THE GHOST, AND WHERE IS HE? 11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: 12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: TILL THE HEAVENS BE NO MORE, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. 13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, UNTIL THY WRATH BE PAST, that thou wouldest appoint me a SET TIME, and remember me! 14 IF A MAN DIE, SHALL HE LIVE AGAIN? ALL THE DAYS OF MY APPOINTED TIME WILL I WAIT, TILL MY CHANGE COME. 15 THOU SHALT CALL, AND I WILL ANSWER THE: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands." and Job 19:25 says "FOR I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH, AND THAT HE SHALL STAND AT THE LATTER DAY UPON THE EARTH: 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, YET IN MY FLESH I SHALL SEE GOD: 27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me....29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know THERE IS A JUDGMENT. "
Jesus also taught (Mat 10:28 KJV) "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
1 Cor 15:42 "So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven."

That story happened BEFORE Jesus died and was resurrected.
Hell is still to come, no contradiction.
